    Glycol piping is being installed, primarily because the previous install of the GF piping wasn't done right! We found a 50% restriction caused by over application of adhesive at one joint in the system. I rewired the keg washer because the 8' SO cord was too short to reach the area where the 240V 1PH source terminated... I still have the pneumatics to install, and we got the CO2 system in yesterday. It's been a busy month with two or three contractors in the brewery daily and deliveries of kegs and grain as well as equipment and décor items.

    Crowler Cans.. Filled and sealed in a special machine on customer order, 32 oz.

    New piping installed, just need to build the drops to the tanks..

    Went to a local Tap Room for dinner last night... Boneshaker, after the big wheel all metal bicycle of the early 1900's.

    Boneshaker.

    I had a very nice IPA from Maine Beer Company called "Another One". Nice light hops, slightly sweet at first taste but the hops kill that after a quick few seconds. Average ABV at 7%, right in the ballpark for an IPA. This pic is off the interweebs of the bottled beer, mine was on tap... Yum!!

    They have expanded since that pic was taken, nearly doubling the seating capacity. Their Mac and Cheese specialties are to die for. Last night, I ordered the Blind Pig Mac.... Bacon, Brat, and Pulled Pork with Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese.

    Just started doing homebrew this past December/Jan. Started with a couple of 1 gallon kits, got hooked. I'm now doing 5 gallon extract kits from NortherBrewer. My first 5 gallon batch was "favorite" of many, but I found it to be too "hoppy", it was the dead ringer kit from NB. When I finished the bottle conditioning and sampled it, it tasted like mud. Yuck! So on to other kits. I'm currently drinking a "Nut Brown Ale" brew and it's good. But my favorite so far has been the "Gaarden Hoe" kit, which is a clone of this beer. My first 5 gallon batch dissapeared in a flash. So now I've got another batch fermenting, just made the beer last Friday so got a few more weeks before I can bottle and enjoy it. Here is a mug from my first batch, in a nice frosty mug.

    According to Thomas Tusser's 1557 Five Hundred Points of Good Husbandry:

    "The hop for his profit I thus do exalt,
    It strengtheneth drink and it flavoureth malt;
    And being well-brewed long kept it will last,
    And drawing abide, if ye draw not too fast."

    AND hops have a minor antibacterial effect.

    OK... less than 5% ABV and no specific style? Nice labeling, though! [winkthumb]

    Used to brew. Probably my favorite experiment was a red ale flavored with carrot juice, crystal hops and then added champagne yeast. It was best enjoyed at cellar temperature. People who liked carrots liked it. People who didn't, didn't.

    Then I developed celiac disease and can't have beer anymore. There's Redbridge, but it tastes like a pale ale diluted with tonic water. There's not enough people around here for the stores to stock much of any gluten free beers. I did have a nice one in Portland Oregon that was brewed from chestnuts. I would not have guessed it had I not known it. If I remember it was Ground Breaker
