I own these Etekcity these Portable LED Camp Lanterns.

Best battery-operated lanterns I have ever bought. I have a few other lanterns but these have become our go- to lights when we need a lantern. The compact size is so convenient and handles allow it to be tied to your bag or hang in a tent. The light is really bright and they do not eat batteries. I bought them last July and have not had to change the batteries yet.

    Specs from Amazon:

They come in a four pack and if one watches the deals of the day/ lightning deals on Amazon, they are often on sale, I bought mine for $19.98. My son went camping last weekend and as he was packing his gear I asked him if he wanted the solar lantern or the battery operated. He chose the Elekcity lantern. This product has thousands of reviews on Amazon and is a quality product. Since they come in a box of 4, they can be given out as gifts. I give this lantern 5-stars.

Ditto good stuff, gave some as gifts last Christmas.
Also come in the Solar Panel type to recharge your batteries as you hike or just loaf.

When we had the ice storm last winter we used various LED lamps and other small sources of power.
We wanted to test to the bare min we have as a test of security. 5 Days camping in place and the only concession was to use the OEM inverter in the rear of the truck to make1 pot of coffee a day.
Yes we have a super generator but we wanted to test worst case, just in case it went down and we wanted to test to high security and low profile.

Those are awesome lights, we picked up several from Wally Wirld for $19.97 a piece! They charge well and so far the batteries seem to hold up well! We're going to pick up a bunch more soon, would be nice to have at least one per room, every room and a few spairs!

They work great in the summer when heat is an issue. Hung it on the kitchen cabinet during near a week now without power and had plenty of light to prepare food with no added heat.

Mine is a Poppy (Nebo Tools/Walmart), and it's yellow so I can find it, but otherwise much like the one pictured.

Price is right!! How bright are they? May have to get some for spare lighting.

My favorite is Fenix CL25. Fenix CL25R LED Rechargeable Lantern Been using this for years. Will get through multi-days of camping no problem. Can be super bright or super long lasting. And has a red light option. Much more pricey though. I have kept one lit on moonlight mode at the top of our staircase for many years. On all night every night. I charge the battery about once a month.

The battery operated one are quite bright. Cannot speak for the solar ones but after reading the members comments on how good they are, I am putting the solar ones on my wish list.

Just a heads us, I found Harbor Freight tools sells these lamps for $9.97 in store! Picked up 12 of them and have 6 more on hold at one of the other stores! Cant beat that with a stick! Best move on these, as H.F.T. is known for only having items for one cycle and then never again! Years ago, they had really nice clear ammo range boxes, I picked up a bunch of Rifle and a hand full of pistol, and never saw any more at any of the stores, that really sucked, I really love those boxes!

Have a few questions for anyone that has these or has them on order when received.

    1. Are the built in rechargeable batteries accessible to be replaced when they wear out?
    2. If so what kind of batteries are they?
Technical question: Do not do unless you know what you're doing.
    3. Can you access the electronics to tie the built in batteries in parallel to rechargeable batteries in the bottom?

This is the best lamp for me. Yes I have the solar cheapies and they are great for home use. In fact I have one on each utility vehicle on the place. Since the cheapies are most fragile I have built PVC containers for them. OTOH the Fenix is too expensive for multiply buys and at 2" in dia it will fit in a pocket and survive most drops, it has it's place too.
You can purchase copies and you'll get what you pay for!
COST? You can check AMAZON and spend $69.00 or $43.00 for a Warehouse Model.
CHARGER? I use dedicated 8 Place charger for all my usb charge units. Cheap OEM wall sockets are just that, Cheap and no indication of charge or shut off.
