Everybody post your first frost date and low temperatures. That way we can see colder temps as they move across our country. Here in north Louisiana my low temp so far has been in the high 60’ s. After all the 100+ days,I’m ready for colder temps.
Ha... 49 the other morning and the marine layer has remained well into afternoon before moving back off shore the past week.
Dug out the spuds from a part of the garden not used for spuds before/ I was disappointed in the low yield vs my tub grown spuds. As I dug deeper looking for any hiding, the soil felt really cold. I kept digging. I hit ice at less than a foot down This after a long summer and a fair amount of rain. It seems that part of the property now has an 'ice lens' - extreme cold early in the winter coupled with a late snow that was thinner than usual must have contributed, as did the late and very cold 'Spring' this year. And people wonder why I scoff at the claims of AGW....
mid florida.....we may NEVER get frost..........i wonder if we will ever get to 70 this year edit....13 oct...55 in the morning...first cool of the year, feels great, got the exhaust fan on
I sure look forward to the first hard frost this winter. The mosquitoes after Hurricane Florence have been terrible. Only place I remember them being worse was around hog farms in Okinawa, Japan during the 1980's. My the first frost I suspect that Walmart will have pallet loads of bug spray right at the entrance, like they have bottled water now.
Already seen it last weekend way north near @ghrit alma mater at 10pm Saturday night. Got out of the sauna and took a quick dip in the lake. water was about 25 degrees warmer than the air. dock was already frosted and had to walk deliberately. sauna was 195.
Record warm so far this fall in east TN....9 days of 90+ degree days when it should be mid 70's. Lows still in the 60's, about 10-12 degrees above normal.
The windows on my truck were frozen this morning. I didn't check the temp but the forecast showed 39.
We're a;ready in the low 30's at night and it doesn't look life temps will be out of the 50's during the day for the next week or so. Getting chilly but a welcome change
I thought we had frost this morning... but it was just sand that had blown up on the grass. We did get down to 57.
Really frosty here, Supposed to get down to 59 tonight. I may actually have to wear socks for a change?
