I ordered some material called "Blood Red." I figured this would be fitting after seeing the movie 300 (seeing for the second time tonight).

I also made a smaller 6" version of the previous 10" ones.

We all know the story of The story of Leonidas and his 300 Spartans. I have been handing the decals out to friends and family for the past few years. The decals always give me a chance to talk about a subject I am very passionate about.

I am still making them in black and white so when you order please note the desired color in a message. ( I couldnt get the selection option to work right)

I am switching the sets up a bit. Now I am going to be sending out sets of three.
    1 large (10")
    2 Small (6")

All must be same color with in a set. If ordering multiple sets please note desired colors for each set.

    $9.50 per set. Shipping Included.
If you order multiple sets I will throw in some extras.

    Link is in my signature.
To buy scroll to the bottom of that page and click the link just above the M1 Garand Rifle.

I am raising the money to get myself a CMP M1 Carbine to keep my Garand company. [IMG] So the funds are going to a good cause.

    Thanks guys.

    “Molone labe”

The story of Leonidas and his 300 Spartans and 700 Thebans who stood at Thermopylae.
    300 (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:300poster.box.jpg" class="image"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/93/300poster.box.jpg/200px-300poster.box.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@en/thumb/9/93/300poster.box.jpg/200px-300poster.box.jpg
The struggle to preserve our rights as citizens.
Lay down my arms? In the words of Leonidas to the Persian King Xerxes….MOLON LABE!!!! Come and take them!
It is hard to miss the parallel to our second amendment.
Molone labe (mo-lone lah-veh) There have been many films made based on the battle of Thermopylae, the newest being the ground breaking blockbuster
    simply titled “300″
    The short story.
Go and tell the Spartans, stranger passing by, that here, obedient to their laws, we lie.
In 480 B.C. the forces of the Persian Empire under King Xerxes, numbering according to Herodotus two million men, bridged the Hellespont and marched in their myriads to invade and enslave Greece.
In a desperate delaying action, a picked force of three hundred Spartans was dispatched to the pass of Thermopylae, where the confines between mountains and sea were so narrow that the Persian multitudes and their cavalry would be at least partially neutralized. Here, it was hoped, an elite force willing to sacrifice their lives could keep back, at least for a few days, the invading millions.
Three hundred Spartans and their allies held off the invaders for seven days, until, their weapons smashed and broken from the slaughter, they fought ‘with bare hands and teeth’ (as recorded by Herodotus) before being at last overwhelmed.
The Spartans and their Thebans allies died to the last man, but the standard of valor they set by their sacrifice inspired the Greeks to rally and, in that fall and spring, defeat the Persians at Salamis and Plataea and preserve the beginnings of Western democracy and freedom from perishing in the cradle.
Two memorials remain today at Thermopylae. Upon the modern one, called the Leonidas Monument in honor of the Spartan king who fell there, is engraved his response to Xerxes’ demand that the Spartans lay down their arms.

Leonidas’ reply was two words, Molon labe:
    Come and get them.

Upside down V is capital lambda, a Roman (Latin) "L". The other thing is omega, Latin, almost an "O" . The O is omicron, the real O.

Not laffin' they don't teach latin any more, I guess.

OK, I'm lyin --[LMAO][LMAO][LMAO] Maybe it's Greek, since Leonides was Greek.

The letters are Greek. Similiar to Latin, which IIRC followed, and if so was based on Greek.

    The pronunciation is; muh-loan lah-vay

Where else can you log on to a gun board and get a lesson in ancient history, I love the Monkey!

I guess that's why the B and V are so close together on the keyboard --

I read somewhere that the reason for the odd configuration of letters on keyboards is because when the manual typewriter was invented the most often used letters were too close together and would stick the keys. So they devised a method to seperate the letters by their frequency of occurance. It is established and even tho there is no need for it on modern keyboards we still use it.
Just a little bit of useless trivia this morning.

Of course you are right, that was the reasoning behind the kwerty keyboard we all know and love so well. Can't remember the name of the other "standard" board layout, but there is one that has something to do with grouping letters in a way that evens out the hand useage. My father was playing with that some years back, he did not learn to touch type on kwerty and was trying to improve his hunt and peck methods.

Now, if the damn tab key would just get out from under my left little finger and go back to under the side of my right hand like the old Royal I learned on, I might be happy.

    Still --

I feel like I need to advise our members that helpless has been having problems keeping up with demand for his product. Until such time as he can resolve his problems I would discourage any of our members from ordering from him.

Once he gets his issues straightened out I will post it and urge our members to support him.

But for now I have to warn against it.
Let us know when you get your problems sorted out helpless.
