I was watching the news and they talked about how they were putting security cameras in classrooms that would automatically recognize any gun and call the police. All within three minutes. The police would get the feed from the classroom also. They would never expand this to security cameras everywhere, Nothing here, Move along. Sheeple will accept this, thinking they will be safer. A frog in the pot thing for your freedom and privacy.

Given all the cameras regular folks put up at home that are web enabled, Big Brother need only harvest what is already out there....

    Ring is just one example.

Three minutes? Yeah, right, good luck with that... Hell, the world could end in three minutes.

UncleMorgan I like peeling bananas and (occasionally) people.

Children are merciless little monsters. Give every kid a loaded firearm to carry around at school and the crazy school shooters would be too terrified to walk in the front door.

Of course, so would the teachers...but that might be a good thing.

Literacy rates would go way up.

Almost seriously, can you image what would happen to some poor school shooter if all the kids had Whammo! slingshots and a bag of .50 cal lead balls?

crazy slingshot channel.... I agree - a Wrist Rocket in every hand would be a real answer w/o firearms.

Security cameras installed by the State worries you?

    How about these?

Ring has launched a new app, Neighbors, opening up its security video sharing in the hope that it becomes Nextdoor but for more than just complaining about security. The app, the first to be released since Ring was acquired by Amazon, pulls out features that previously were only available within its Ring app for camera owners.

    Ya gotta ask - does
    Amazon = [IMG]

    For the paranoid...

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have put an "undisclosed number of covert surveillance cameras inside streetlights" across the country, according to federal procurement documents obtained by Quartz. It's unclear how many cameras the agencies purchased or where, exactly, the "video recording and reproducing equipment" has been placed. But the documents obtained by Quartz show the DEA paid a company called Cowboy Streetlight Concealments LLC about $22,000 since June 2018, while ICE made payments of $28,000 over the same time period. ICE offices in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio provided funding for the cameras

If you read the Permissions part of their REQUIRED APP you see that there are a hugh bunch of things in your device that they make it REQIRED that you allow... Basically they want you to granr access to EVERYTHING on your device that runs the App... Very Bad Idea to allow that....

I was just watching some of the 60 minutes program before the Dallas game. Google and others keep your info, even when you delete it. I always figured it was like this.

I don't think they care if you approve or not!

They do not care. There's a movement afoot in Europe that is going to give outfits like the Big G fits of magnitude 10. The action will require permission from the service user to collect ANY and ALL information. In other words, those one sided permission statements that you have to OK before using a service will not be allowed. So far, the US hasn't gotten involved. Yet.
