Tis the season! Having hanger time and allowing for a bit of christmas cheer, I decided to build my 4 year old nephew a top quality toy that he will enjoy for years to come! It needed to be kid tough and yet be cool enough for him to pass on some day! Toys these days suck, so I decided to fix that! It's not done, but getting there!

 

I built my house. Don't judge too bad. It's scraped for painting. The yard clutter belongs to the missus.

 

Built a log cabin in the woods before, but no pictures...

 

I've bent over 100 feet of stainless steel into odd cookie cutters. The T-bone steak shape is actually a meat mold.

 

Fish have boobs in your neck of the woods? Maybe I fish in the wrong place...

 

That one was a bit of a challenge, since all the other fish I'd done had no arms. It's a fun one since you can make both slim and plump mermaids with the same cutter.

Look what I made back strap and round fries. Better tie your tongue to your leg or it will beat you to death trying to get at it.

 

Tapered coil at lower right is a patch puller, yes?

 

It can be used for that and I have done so....Its actually a cleaning "worm"...you wrap / thread tow thru it after putting in on the end of your ramrod and use it to clean the barrel.

The pick is the twisted brass(?) piece on the left, but I don't see a pan brush. Perhaps this is more of a military thing, since a hunter wouldn't be expected to maintain such a high rate of fire.

I think the worm design is brilliant! I'll be making a few of those. There's nothing more frustrating than getting a cleaning patch stuck down in the breech. Well... almost nothing.

 

That is so funny. The high school cutting board pig. We were just talking about that the other evening. My brother made one for my Mom and the kid is thinking of making one for his Dad.

Friday he brought home my Christmas present that he made in shop.

 

These climbing toys are fun for kids, and fun for me to make for them. The tiger had a top pivot piece shaped like an ancient African Acacia tree. The ninja is terribly out of focus, and that's a shame. His swords came out really nice, and he was set to climb on strings about 15' long.
