    Makes ya wonder don't it?!?!?!

I always laugh at the "Year End Sales" and other sales crap where they "Mark Down" something 30% and tell you it's a good deal, while still making 50% profits on the item! Car dealers are by far the worst! Buy that new F-250 you been dreaming of, today only, for $18,000 Off sticker price! Or the "Employee Only pricing" that those fuckers at Generous Motors pull, Yea, the employees pay that, NOT! Employees have to special order a car through corporate under special terms, and still pay a premium!

Y'all know the Dealers are who sets the price, RIGHT, and they can price things as they wish! One car dealer priced the then new shipment of first gen Challengers $40,000 above list, and sold out the first shipment in 2 days, YUP, and there is a sucker born every minute!
Next time you go to buy a new car, demand to see the "Book" that came with the car, wanna see the sales staff and management turn green around the gills! Bought the wife's car for $700 OVER Wholesale using that trick! Worked so good, went back to the same dealer and bought mine the next month using the same trick! First new cars Ever, though never again unless I hit the lottery! Took 6 hours to make it happen both times, and the dealer was NOT happy, but had to sell them to us, under FED Law!

All appliances we get now are used.
Except for the refrigerator. My wife insists the fridge be new or newish.

UncleMorgan I like peeling bananas and (occasionally) people.

Used is the smart way to go. Just shop carefully.

Why pay $1600 when you can pay $350?

Our washing machine died a few weeks ago. One of the plastic shock absorbers broke in half, it did the Harlem Shake, and went to the Great Laundomat in the Sky. It was 13 years old.

So I looked around on Craigslist, and found another washer dryer set that was 12 years old. It had sat in storage for 11 and a half years, and then only used a few times after that.

How to tell: take out the detergent drawer and feel around behind it. The crud buildup will give you a very good idea how much use the washer has seen. This one was utterly pristine.

Bought the set for $450. Sold the old dryer for $100. So, the replacement set was $350 out of pocket.

The new set was an almost identical to the old one, and exactly what my sweetie wanted. All primitive, obsolete, mechanical switches with no flashy electronics to go wonky.

I field-stripped the dead washer and peeled every useful part off the carcass. Now if the new set ever needs anything, the parts will be right on hand. And free.

Except for shock absorbers, of course.

    Shake it, baby!

I always buy returned, dented and dinged appliances. I always look for best value for my money. I should have taken @Ura-Ki with me when I bought my car.
