Useless without power. Credit cards, store discount cards, or those terrible electronic hotel key cards.

They don't take an edge well or burn cleanly, and aren't useful for much more than a frost scraper.

But wait... there is one more thing I found that they do well. :)

I usually shred them for opsec reasons. (y)

I was thinking about shoe horns, and I realized I should use one for the shoes I have to tie. I mean, I really enjoy slip-on shoes and regularly wear them over shoes I'd have to tie. Even my semi-formal dress shoes are to be tied, but I slip them on with a little struggle. I usually just use a finger, but it gets a little snug!

I bet you could shred those cards and add them to your plastic recycling method (mine is to use as insulation for the basement).

Wrap duct tape or medical tape around the card for flat storage in the FAK.

I've used them to open doors when I locked myself out, depends on the lock of course.

Shred and burn. (I have a REAL shoe horn, but it gets not much use these days.)

Cut down into strips and used as arrow nock strengtheners instead of buffalo horn on traditional self nock arrows.

I had to drive to the local Subway and ask for a rewards card to get myself back into the house after locking my keys and wallet inside.

Spare car key did save me a walk.

...that means you need to change your locks. If you can gain entry that easily, so can someone else :(

Knowing them they might have a card scanner near the lock to ID the thieves and while they are in lock up raid their bank accounts... Monkeys are nothing in not ingenious....;)

Locks are to keep honest people honest. Big, mean dogs are to show dishonest people the error of their ways. ;)

  14. I think I saw Martha Stewart using unordered credit cards to create a mosaic on the bottom of her swimming pool.

Have used the cards they send to try and get you to sign up for something to hold fishing line over some tape.

What do you use plastic washers for? the faucet? I'm drawing a blank here. @arleigh it sounds like a good practical use I just can't think of what to use plastic washers on. (my 1st senior moment?)

I use them to more leak proof a screw, bolt or fittings in applications such as tanks or metal clad buildings. They also come in handy in helping to limit wear in applications with vibration.

thanks for that @oldawg my mind was blank on the plastic washer thing.... it's why I value this site. Other people and their perspectives on refusing items. New ways to reuse stuff or use it differently.
