Cryptocurrencies: You in, or out?

I agree. I read that article and all those people, they gambled on a risk and lost. Odd that he was sick and went to another country and died. You would think he would have left his passwords etc... somewhere or with someone.

 

My guess is that he didn't trust anyone...which is kinda sad.

 

Sadly I do not trust anyone either. If I was one of his investors I would want proof of death. His company was in trouble, he was sick, he went overseas and died. Hundreds of millions is now lost?

Not only allowing their funds to be controlled by someone else, but just what exactly did they have that was of value? An electronic blip that someone else said was valuable, THAT makes no sense to me. I know, I'm an antique, but if I can't hold it, just because someone else says it exists doesn't mean that it does.

I agree. Pay off debt and acquire hard assets, not funny money.

you don't own land , the government can take it any time they want .
If you have the money to invest, get gold or silver or ammo or food/water, radio communications, and the means to move at random .

 

Agreed the land you "own" can be taken away by the government at any time any you will be compensated as they deem "fair". The moment it can be used to generate more revenue to the government than you pay in taxes it will belong to someone else. It's even less secure the fiat currency your saving and other investments are in, since Emminent Domain land seizures happen every day.

IMO land "ownership" is a fee you pay for the privilege that allows you to pay taxes to the government. Whatta deal.

I simply do not understand why anyone would want to transfer any of their wealth into something they can never see or feel, and that is dependent totally on an internet-based system with ones and zeros out in cyberspace. I mean, what could possibly go wrong? *laugh* Its even worse than all those who have bought 'paper' gold and expect to be shipped physical gold upon demand should the economy go bust.
