Thanks but the problem is that most of those are processed in places that also process wheat and barley. The legal definition of gluten free is 20 ppm, whereas I like a lot of people with celiac disease react around 2, so a lot of the things labeled as gluten free, aren't. Often it is also a technicality, that they are allowed to add gluten back to a supposedly gluten free product if it is added as a decaking agent. then the 20ppm doesn't even apply. I have to grind my own spices because preground usually has it added. Pregrated cheese will also do it. A lot of medicines also have it. I haven't been able to find a decongestant that doesn't have it. Even most aspirin has it.

I did see one testimonial from someone with celiac disease. I'll have to think about it

Quoted from the web site ...

"Naturally gluten free product malted in a dedicated gluten free facility. Produces gluten free beer. Use Amylase Enzymes to convert starches into sugars which can then be fermented by brewing yeast."

I don't see anything advertised about dedicated gluten free processing facilities. Perhaps I just missed it, or you have to register to see full content? Usually factory contamination is the issue.

Click on any of the malted grain products... It is in the text. Good to be cautious, though. I brewed an IPA for a friend from sorghum extract and rice solids. Came out so good, I kept a few bottles for myself. :D

Ok, you only see that when you click on an individual item under "Featured Products." They should list that kind of information in the category section or people like me won't bother to look further

lol...I can work my way around a Dewey Card Catalogue...these dang computer things are just too new fangled...Hmm spellcheck keeps trying to lop off the, "ue," from catalogue. I'm pretty sure that was the way it was spelled back in the day

I have been experimenting with Gluten Free or Gluten Reduced beers for a couple of years.....not sure if I actually am Gluten sensitive or not, it seems to come and go......
BUT! I have discovered a lot of interesting things.......for example, many of the new Craft Beers (San Diego is kinda the capital of craft beers) are naturally gluten reduced to under 10ppm. It is the enzyme they add at the end of the brewing process that does it from Whitelabs.
Stone Brewing has a great IPA that is reduced that they sell in stores all over...it's called 'Delicious IPA'
Here are some other local brands that are Gluten Free/Reduced that you may be able to find or order: Hess Brewing, Alpine Brewing, Amplified Ales,Duckfoot Brewery....and many more.
I also have read on the web that Corona and Coors light are naturally reduced as well and they don't bother me......but of course do your own research!

Thanks but, the legal definition for gluten free is 20 ppm, and most of us with Celiac disease react in the 2-5 ppm range. There are a lot of products labeled as gluten free and probably meet the legal definition but we can't have it. There are also label definitions that are loop holes. For example, wheat flour is used to dust a lot of things so it won't clump. Technically it's not an ingredient, but a declumping agent so doesn't have to be listed. Also if it's used as a binder in pills it doesn't need to be listed. I can't take generic aspirin or any decongestant at all on the market. I can't use pre-grated cheese or buy ground spice blends. I have to wash rice and quinoa prior to cooking. There's one restaurant in town that I can get carry out from, but won't risk eating in.

The gluten reduced beers are not for Celiac patients, but do tend to work for non-Celiac gluten sensitivity patients, who are the bulk of people avoiding gluten. I have the genes. I have the family history. I have the disease. I also have an unusually high percentage of Neanderthal DNA and wonder if there's a connection there. I also have a fructose intolerance and can't eat much of any candy, soft drinks, sugar enhanced vegetables or fruit. I need the old varieties and had to plant my own orchard to get them. I have a hunter gatherer diet

The best actual gluten free beer I've had was made from chestnuts, but it's not available here. That was on a vacation in Portland Oregon. If I remember it was Groundbreaker

Should this be the year that Crafty gets a Kegerator or similar product?

Was thinking a unit that has 2 taps would be nice. Fancy beer for Mrs Crafty, and maybe Busch Lattes for Crafty!

this is also a good link for various brew recipes, Homebrewing Education, Resources, and Beer Making Tips | Homebrew Academy
My self i traveled as a seaman all around the world and have tasted barrels of beer hi:)
But in my opinion the best beers are brewed in Belgium and the Netherlands, and then special the craft beers from the little berwers, not the big commercial brewed beers.
