there is a very critical windows vulnerability all windows users need to patch immediately!! {{windowTitle}} this is so critical they released patches for XP and server 2003 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4500705/customer-guidance-for-cve-2019-0708
XP as well??? Hmmm? Need to tug the tin foil a little tighter.. Simple solution I have found was not use windows or never let windows on the internet..
yep they patched XP and server 2003 which is highly unusual they only do that for extremely critical vulnerabilities.
@Thunder5Ranch we recommend that ya put this patch and the other emergency XP patches on a USB stick and install them on the XP systems. and definitely leave their network ports completely unplugged
Last up-date stopped our ability to print in certain circumstances. Error 0x80070241 has been plaguing us and so far no fix.
My hat is off to you Tech Savy individuals ,,, as I am not one . If it wasn't for whatever Virus and Threat Protections already pre-loaded onto my computer , I wouldn't have a clue about this stuff , and would probably be beating this thing with a hammer , or hanging it from a tree and fixing it with a 12 guage . That being said , Is there a computer that will not get these viruses and stuff ? I've heard the Apple stuff doesn't get the viruses as much . What's ya'lls theory on this ???
Hammers work well. Yes, I KNOW this. But Apple is less vulnerable, tho' catching up as hackers and whackers gain skills. Linux is, so I'm told, quite immune for some reason. I don't get it, but that's what I've been told.
Apple gets their share of virus infections, just not as many as Windoz does...Been running Macs from the preRelease original Fishbowl 128K Mac, and only once did I contract a Virus... It was in MacOs 9.1.1 and I had a backup done less that 24 Hours previous... Just wiped the HardDrive, then did a Restore, and then upgraded, my Firewall and never opened another eMail Attachment that I didn’t know what was in it... My mistake, and I set my Operational Protocols to never repeat that issue, again...
I run XP all open , not one firewall or AV system, fast , NO adds ez . mY MAIL IS ALL ON THE WEB , I just look , buying im W7 still open , have a internet bank card with Paypal ,, no cookies or limited way down . like 10 years plus now.. CONFUSERS are toys , not buying a house , land or real stuff , just surfin here and around . USE a phone !! W3.12 was just upgraded . All tis online crap is a bonus , don't drop land links S
For run of the mill surfing, macOs 9.3.5 has done quite well. Not many ads, no virii, and just a firewall...just for grins I restart it every month or so. Win7 & 10 computers on the other hand have firewall, ad blockers, a/v, malware blockers...but they log into .gov servers at NWS several times a month. Kind of need to keep things "tidy" there. Linux box does good on its own, too...knock on wood!
apple is expensive their operating system is a modified unix so that is gud but they are about twice as expensive than a virtually identical PC Lucy can build ya a nice desktop PC that costs way less than apple that runs Linux or Linux plus windoze 7 or 10 if ya want windoze. Lucy can also build small gizmos that run Linux and laptops too but laptops are more complicated. Linux is not affected by windows viruses as long as windoze APIs are not installed. windoze has an estimated 500,000 to 800,000** viruses, Linux has about 1,000** or so. Both can be affected by malware or ransomware but Linux, if managed properly, is more resistant.
