My experience with them is that they do not snap back as good as wood, but they shoot a heck of a lot better than nothing.

 

for a few dollars, they would be fine for fishing if nothing else...

 

I have one I have made it's about 50# it will shoot but I don't shoot it well but if it's all I had I would.
