At lunch time I stopped by a local pawnshop to glance at what was under glass. Spotted an interesting 9mm pistol. Its a Zastava EZ9. Similar to a Sig 226 in appearance. S/A D/A 15 round. Very smooth trigger even in D/A! Finnish is a bit worn and its missing 1 grip screw. Selling for $250 but I can get it for $210 OTD! Any one here has one? So far the net gives very good reviews for the value. Got the cash to. Opinions on this please.
Had one a while back, it was a serviceable weapon. Just didn't fit me well. Guy I traded it to loves it, think he whispers in its barrel just to make his Browning jealous . If the finish is worn I would give it a good inspection inside could have seen a lot of use and have worn parts. Not much of a deal if you have to track down and replace a bunch of the guts.
OOps forgot to add the one I had......... had a bit heavy trigger and the slide always felt sloppy to me. But I have always been a 1911 fan so that could just my being used to the 1911 vs the EZ9.
I will try and remember to ask my friend when I see him next if he ever got more mags for it or needed to find parts. I seem to remember reading many of the parts were interchangeable with another brand and model.............. can't remember which or even if it was the same weapon........... the Israel KSN GOLAN and the CZ99 come to mind as being basically clones of EZ. Might do some searching into that as far as parts.
Magazines could be a real issue. Not just the price, but finding a source for the several you should have on hand. I'm not familiar with the gun, but if it's an uncommon model, spare & repair parts could also be hard to find.
Ok,I dropped the hammer and some cash today and picked up my new to me 9mm . Imported by EAA. 4" bbl chrome lined.Ambi slide release/ decocker and magazine release. 1 15 round magazine included. 3 dot sights. Rail. For what it is its not bad at all. Doesn't rattle when I shake it! Nice tight gun. Now if it works with steel cased ammo which it should I have a winner. Will do range report when I gather up some more ammo.
