Wife is concerned, I'm not really worried about a little blow.

A tropical storm, or for that matter even a depression can bring torrential rains. Many areas are still close to flood stage.

What concerns me most is the temperature of the eastern gulf waters - 87 degrees and warmer. This is an excellent fuel for storms and can cause explosive development in a very short time.

Complacency can be deadly...above all, be safe!

Yup, it's just a better thing to do, that being not be part of the rush to prepare for what could be a major wash out.

If it becomes a Tropical Storm it will be named Barry.
And we all know how destructive to this country the last Barry was. That storm lasted eight years and there's still fallout from it.

Name it Barry and it'll just be a fart in a whirlwind.

    That significant, do you think?

Had a squint at the projected tracks on one of the spaghetti sites. Way too soon to sweat it out, the weather weenies are more confused than usual, it seems. That said, an extra bottle or three of water will never be wrong.

New Orleans got soaked this morning. Lots of street flooding. Jefferson got a lot of rain but our drainage is a lot better!

Good thing Orleans spent 3.5 million to save the Confederate statues!

There was some jabber that the newly raised levees are settling and the flooding might just overtop them again ---

Locally the talk is about overtopping nearer the mouth of the river if there is enough storm surge to back up the flow...

Lost trees last night in the initial blow from the north.

    Pics at day light.

In92l is starting to pick up heat from the gulf.
Time will tell as daylight and heat show how it consolidates.

You just gotta get your priorities in order!

Any way, that was not REAL money.
