Anyone here ever get a C&R? How hard/easy is it to get? Been looking into getting one lately. Down side is that the .Gov will have you on there radar. Up side you can get guns delivered to your home! I gots to know.
I have a full FFL...not fucking worth it. The time and regs are bs, but it is the money end of it that gets to me... That said, if you want one, try. I hope y'all do not have to have a storefront to get one.
had one for a few years, didn't renew it when it expired. The deals available at the time were attractive, not sure what would draw me these days. No more $59 SKSs. any reference to me owning firearms is fictional, for entertainment purposes only
I listened to a survival podcast a couple of days that talked about it. I don't think it is difficult, just a lot of bureaucratic bs. The C&R holder was very happy with it. He was getting inexpensive guns shipped to his house and getting a dealer discount. The ATF website isn't great. It looks like the application process for a C&R is similar to a FFL, but it is a lot cheaper and there is no onsite inspection. It is convenient to be able to mail-order older weapons but some of the things that are C&R, for example a Thompson sub-machine gun, are still subject to NFA BS. The cost isn't that much and the paperwork is not a big deal, I would have one even with an FFL, if I were still seriously collecting.
Many states have effectively blocked any benefits to having a C&R licence, so much so, that the few deals out there are not really worth it when your state no longer allows transfers with out the services of an FFL holder! Sad sad sad! You can also thank Obummer for some of that, when he went after ITAR and blocked pretty much everything, you no longer had access to a large supply of parts!
Thanks for the response guys. I'm not interested in NFA items unless I win the lottery. LOL. Cheap milsurp rifles dried up years ago. Looks like I'll be putting this on the back burner for now, maybe even on ice.
Best deal out there. 10 bucks a year, they ship firearms direct to your house and as a bonus, a lot of suppliers (midway, brownells, j&g) offer you a dealer discount on parts and supplies!
Given any more thought to getting out of that Kommunist Kountry? You can pack concealed in AZ, not even so much as a permit required.
