Many sportsmen eagerly await Sept 1 as the traditional first day of dove season. This day is also when 820 new laws passed during the 2019 legislative session by the Texas Legislation go into effect.
Don't stop reading! This summary list will only cover the TEN Bills Protecting Your Second Amendment Rights.

House Bill 121 provides a legal defense for License To Carry holders who unknowingly enter establishments posted with 30.06 or 30.07 signs, as long they promptly leave when verbally informed of the policy.
House Bill 302 prohibits "no firearms" clauses in future residential leases and protects tenants' rights to possess lawfully-owned firearms and ammunition in dwelling units and on manufactured home lots, and to transport their guns directly between their personal vehicles and these locations.
House Bill 1143 prevents school districts from effectively prohibiting the possession of firearms in private motor vehicles on school property by limiting their authority to regulate the manner in which they are stored in locked cars and trucks.
House Bill 1177 protects citizens from being charged with a crime for carrying a handgun without a License To Carry while evacuating from an area during a declared state or local disaster, or while returning to that area.
House Bill 1791 closes loopholes in the state's "wrongful exclusion" law that cities, counties and state agencies have been using to restrict License To Carry holders in government buildings.
House Bill 2363 allows foster parents to store firearms in a safe and secure manner while making them more readily accessible for personal protection purposes.
House Bill 3231 improves and modernizes Texas' firearms preemption law, specifically with regard to zoning authority that could be otherwise be used by cities and counties to circumvent state law and regulate the sale or transfer of firearms and ammunition at the local level.
Senate Bill 535 strikes "churches, synagogues, or other places of worship" from the prohibited locations list in the Penal Code, clarifying that these places have the same right enjoyed by most other controllers of private property in the state to decide whether to allow LTC holders on-premises.
Senate Bill 741 prohibits a property owners' association from including or enforcing a provision in a dedicatory instrument that prohibits, restricts, or has the effect of prohibiting or restricting any person who is otherwise authorized from lawfully possessing, transporting, or storing a firearm.
Senate Bill 772 provides civil liability protection to business establishments which choose not to post 30.06/30.07 signs, making them less vulnerable to frivolous lawsuits and giving them an incentive to adopt permissive policies for the carrying of handguns by law-abiding citizens on their premises.

A couple of them rub me the wrong way. For example, Bill 121 'provides a legal defense for License To Carry holders who unknowingly enter establishments posted with 30.06 or 30.07 signs, as long they promptly leave when verbally informed of the policy.'

What we have here is Law Enforcement acting specifically on the 'letter of the law' as opposed to 'the true intent of the law'. I mean, does there really need to be such a law to protect the individual from their own police because if yes then, 1) the law was incorrectly written in the first place 2) They need to have a 'Come to Jesus meeting' with their Chief of Police.

Or, Bill 535 "strikes "churches, synagogues, or other places of worship" from the prohibited locations list..."
How in the world were churches put on this list in the first place? Have they not ALWAYS been privately/group/organization own? The government simply waved their hand and BING! BANG! BOOM! They are on the list? Correct the list, it was a mistake and while they're at it look at the list for anymore government mission creep.

    Anyway...I am being nit picky...

The whys are at the start of CC era making of laws and were incorporated until proven wrong.
At that time only Deacons and Preachers (part of the CC Law) were allowed to carry during worship. Soon after it was proven by a few who wanted to beat their wife aka domestic violence, that a greater need was for protection of the Flock. Long story but such rules have been the norm in most of the past of churches as a choice of the Church.

It is a law in Texas that if you are ask to leave a business for any reason then you must do so or be charged with trespass.

A few anti guns folks would hide the signs by placing boxes in front and then try to charge a CC holder and if challenged would deny responsibility for hiding the signs.

So since a standard of "Ask to Leave" was on the books it seemed sensible to remove the dodge of some anti CC folks.

CC came slowly but it progressed by proven events which is the best way to enact laws IMO.

That's right,You have still entered private property,Beings that you don't own said property you still need permission to enter carrying

Here the church leader can grant permission...The state requires you to have additional training if CCing with the intent of protecting the ''flock''....

    The other one...Just say,Sign? I haven't seen no stinking sign....and leave !

Good for Texas. Unfortunately for us, we have a Gov. chomping at the bit to pass new restrictions, including a red flag law. He's also in favor of infanticide, and has openly said so then equivocating later when confronted.
