Well, I just got off vaction and had to go to the hospital the day I flew back. The two evenings before I couldn't sleep because of shortness of breath. Thought it was asthma. So I got some Primatine mist but it didn't help much. So, I went in and it turned out to be congestive heart failure! My B/P was 178/120 121 pulse. My ankles were swollen. [fluid buildup] I was pale and tired. My sonogram [organs] showed OK, the heart echo showed no bad heart valves, and the heart cath showed no blockages. They tried to talk me into a defib unit but I had just read this months Consumer reports which talked about these units being recalled, and the new replacements having problems [leads breaking off]. I declined so all the doctors came in to try to scare me into doing it. After I asked for a written guarantee, they left and discharged me. So, fellow monkees, if you are experiencing pain or any of these symptoms ecpecially adema get checked out. I hope this helps someone here. I'm going to take a couple of months off and write some music and get more joy in my life. Must be a spiritual blockage.

$40,000 later, no answers. High pressure over a long period is what I think. I'm on five drugs and asprin. I'll supplement with Cardio Plus, [heart vitamin] a multi vit/ mineral, fish oil, Co- Q10, and follow a new Chronobiotic Nutrition regime. I've lost 15 lbs since the 15th, mostly water. I'll concentrate on yeast, parasite and heavy metal elimination. Lots of Walking, Biking, Fishing and writing Music for more joy in life. Been concentrating too hard on the preparation and not the enjoyment of what we have. Hey, stocking the freezer with fish was the next thing on the list anyway!

One of the best diuretics (prevents fluid build-up and promotes urination) is green tea. I make it from tea bags and drink it like regular iced tea instead of coffee or soda pop. Check it out in a good herbal medicine textbook, and ask your doctor about it.

Glad you found out and you're taking some time to enjoy each day....

I can prep until I'm blue in the face....but have to take time out to walk on the beach....ride my bike....laugh with friends...to just enjoy life!

Someone said a long time ago...."We're here for a Good Time...Not a long time" and I believed them and try to live accordingly...

    Take care of you....

It was probably caused by letting high blood pressure go way too long, which damages the kidneys, which causes the edema. The kidneys help regulate blood pressure. I'm doing a kidney flush this week. This will remove stones and waste products, so the kidneys can recover and take the fluids out better. I will start a new thread on these flushes later.
