Seems this could be an opinion piece then again if true...

maybe we need to rethink some things?

You probably caught a news blurb last week that the Mexican military was defeated in a gun battle with the Sinaloa cartel. The story quickly dropped out of the headlines, because gun battles in Mexico are too damaging to the Official Narrative about how we don’t need a wall on our southern border.

Most American news outlets have not accurately reported on what happened in Culiacan, the capital city of the Mexican state of Sinaloa. The casualty counts were much higher than anyone reported here in America – and the results were far more horrifying than anything you’ve heard from the mainstream press.

If you missed the brief news blurb, here’s what it stated. Mexican authorities arrested El Chapo Guzman’s son in Culiacan. El Chapo Jr. is the leader of the Sinaloa cartel, now that El Chapo Sr. is behind bars in America. The Sinaloa cartel responded with full force. The Mexican military was outgunned, and after a battle that lasted for several hours, the military surrendered. The authorities released El Chapo Jr.

That’s the narrative-preserving version of what happened. But thanks to journalists in Mexico, who must use pseudonyms and publish their reports anonymously on American blogs, we now know what really happened.

The Mexican military was not just outgunned by the Sinaloa cartel. They were embarrassingly outgunned. It was like a kid showing up for a schoolyard fight, only to discover that his opponent has a fully functional Iron Man suit. The cartel fighters were in full tactical gear, with fully automatic military weaponry and explosives.

The cartel didn’t show up like a bunch of Islamic dorks from Mali with heavy machine guns bolted to the beds of rusted-out Toyota pickup trucks. They had custom-made, state of the art armored vehicles like no one in Mexico had seen before. The Mexican military’s “Fire Serpent” FX-05 battle rifles, which fire a 5.56x45mm NATO round, were unable to penetrate the armored vehicles.

Unlike the Mexican military, which is a pretty much a joke if you haven’t figured it out by now, the cartel’s soldiers were highly trained and highly motivated. Even though the Mexican soldiers were outgunned and demoralized from the beginning, at least they tried to put up a fight.

During the protracted gun battle, the President of Mexico received a phone call from the Sinaloa cartel. After that phone call, the Mexican president immediately called his military commanders and ordered them to surrender.

As the Mexican soldiers were laying down their arms, they were subjected to a final humiliating ritual in which they were forced to shake hands with the cartel victors. That’s when the real horror of the situation surfaced.

While the Mexican troops were battling the cartel in Culiacan, the Sinaloa cartel had sent kill squads to the soldiers’ homes. During that fateful phone call, the cartel informed Mexico’s president that they had just slaughtered the wives and children of many of the soldiers and police officers who had dared to raise arms against the cartel.

Unless the Mexican military immediately surrendered and released El Chapo Jr., the kill squads would move on to the second set of addresses on their lists. That’s why he surrendered so quickly. Let’s not kid ourselves anymore. Mexico is a failed state that is rapidly transitioning into a Narco State.

If you think that Mexican violence could never spill over into America, you should probably read a history book about some of the previous times when Mexico’s government has failed. A good starting point would be the Battle of Columbus, New Mexico in 1916.

Pancho Villa’s rebel army crossed the US border and attacked the town of Columbus, killing 10 unarmed civilians and eight US Cavalry soldiers. Among the dead civilians were a pregnant American woman and her unborn child. Not coincidentally, this was around the first time that American voters started demanding that the federal government build a wall on our southern border.

Culiacan is not some backwater Mexican village where no one wears shoes. It’s a sophisticated, modern capital city. But the local police and that nation’s military were no match for the cartel. Your local sheriff’s department probably wouldn’t fare much better if the cartel rolled into town, would they?

I’d also note that thanks to Mexico’s strident policies against personal gun ownership, none of the families of military members were able to fight back when the cartel kill squads kicked down their front doors.

We have terrible politicians in America who hate their own constituents, so they’re not thinking of any of the implications of Mexico becoming a failed state. But we as American citizens and gun owners should be thinking about it. And preparing.

Been dealing with this crap here in Texas for 200 years. The Mexicans aren't going to quit short of completely conquered and carpet bagged into a different system of society. Flame away, I don't care. Born and raised here 73 years ago and have seen nothing but a deterioration in Mex/American relations since I was old enough to listen. The biggest mistake we made was Wilson sticking his nose in the Villa/Carranza feud when he should have just stationed that hundred-fifty thousand troops on the southern border gulf to pacific and shot anyone, bandit or troop, coming across. Civilians come across just hand them an old Krag and a bandoleer of rounds and send them back to fix their own shithole instead of coming here to turn us into what they just swam away from. Fixing the drug problem here with WAY LESS DAMN CIVILITY will put a crimp in the narcos paycheck and begin to bring more Americans back into being a productive element of society.

Definitely an interesting development if true...sure as hell a real game changing also if true! Can you imagine if this was true as it would knock the air out of ANY Gun Legislation. It would flatten ANY politician entity, individual or organization, that was against a wall. It literary would change our politics overnight and frankly, I don't think anti-gunner would EVER recover from something like this so... So, if it is true why hasn't some of the non-associated news folks like The Corbett Report or Alex Jones or etc. picked up on it? So, I have my doubts...

    Mexican Armed Forces - Wikipedia
Article 129 of the 1917 Political Constitution of the Mexican United States establishes that: "No military authority may, in time of peace, perform any functions other than those that are directly connected with military affairs", but the Army's temporary replacement of civil police forces, in specific cases, before the creation of the Federal Police, has been much debated in Congress and in the mass communications media.

Biggest problem is totally corrupt local Police. And politicians.

    Grinding poverty does that.

Build the God Damn Wall already!!!!! Make it like the old Berlin Wall, guard towers, Mine fields, Sensors to detect digging, cutting, all that! Get a big bunch moving, call in an airstrike!
Send the Marines across the border and blow all the cartels to hell, and send the bill to Mexico City! Mexico needs to make a serious effort to help keep folks from crossing, and that means they need to help pay for it! Time for being nice about things is past, it's time to fling the gloves to the ground and start swingin hard!

I checked and The New York Times and The Washington Post (yeah, had to look AND think twice before quoting those rags) support most, but not all, of what was in your post. The NYT made reference to cartel gunmen shooting up a compound that housed the families of soldiers, and terrorizing the families. The Guzman Family is also paying blood money to the families of the innocent citizens killed and wounded in the gun battle.
And to think, the cartels bought their massive fire-power at gun shows in the USA.:ROFLMAO:

I think you underestimate how vested in gun control come politicians are. Nor how much they prefer seeing a bunch of foreigners they believe might give them votes one day over their American citizens. In fact, I'd believe the exact opposite of what you're saying here. My case:

    1. If such cross border raids/slaughters were to occur, I could see a situation normal with most politicians. Those that scream for troops to be on the border on one side, those that oppose that measure just because the other side thought of it first.

    2. It would embolden gun grabbers because they would use the made up facts saying something like everything that goes bang in Mexico originated at a US gun show, ghost guns, weapons of war, etc. Because, you know if we didn't have those deadly devices, Mexican cartels would never have had them either. And introduce gun control legislation to ban certain, if not most, "assault weapons," standard cap mags and whatever else they get a hankering to add.

    3. When (not if) we get further militarization of the police, Border Patrol as well as .mil forces are deployed on the borders, the very same politicians would ask "what's the need for a wall now?" and screech about money being wasted on that endeavor.

3A. Those same politicians would screech about said militarized police trampling on the rights of normal Americans and publicly blast them for being Nazis or words to that effect. And introduce additional legislation to tie their hands via rules of engagement that make it impossible to do their job.

3B. All while ignoring crimes committed by illegal aliens or label them as being "random acts which you shouldn't judge an entire population yearning to be free for." Of course, if you disagree, you're a racist, bigot and a xenophobe.

    4. Then those same politicians will tell the people "see, we've created a safe environment for you by putting more military/police on the streets. You don't need those assault weapons any longer" while introducing various bans and government inspired theft.

Such actions like Pancho Villa this day in age would only embolden those politicians from the left (and the right with such acts as the Patriot Act 3) to dive headfirst deeper into the absurd and ignorant while greatly expanding government control.

No, the exact opposite of what you think would happen will happen.

A-10's make pretty good temporary walls while the construction is happening. Maybe instead of catch and release we should put the able bodied in work crews to do the construction, then when their sentence is up give them a bottle of water and a new pair of boots before dropping them off on the other side.

The reason we need walls is that instead of punishing the illegals for breaking the law we reward them instead with social services. We all understand the politics behind this.

I'll also say that I advocate guest worker reform to allow migrant workers access, but as foreign workers and not eventual citizens. IMO streamline to process to do it legally and use our IT resources to keep track. If they want citizenship more power to them, but they have to follow the rules and the law. If the first thing you do on your path to becoming a citizen is to break the law to get in line ahead of everyone who follows it they you do not respect the country you want to move to and show contempt for those who do follow the law.

Most people don't realize that illegal migrant workers frequently get taken advantage of because they can't complain. I saw this first hand. If they were legal they would have protections and they would also be paying taxes. Yes, they would get paid more and food prices would increase as a result, but it would all be above board.

If the politicians in Washington had the best interests of the citizens of the United States in mind - but wait, that's only a pipe dream. They have only themselves in mind and absolute power over all of their subjects. 90% of them should be tried for treason.

Seeing the mexican government cannot govern, it is likely that NATO may have to step in and clean it up . Certainly the US has too much internal strife going on to be of any real help.
Democrats are too socialistic to think with any degree of reason.
They certainly did not care about obamas and clintons criminal activities but are hell bent on Trump being impeached .
If nothing is done it will be a cancer that will forcibly make it's way here.

You mean like the DOJ illegally selling them guns?

Most of our politicians are every bit as corrupt as any politician in any third world country including Mexico. Ours simply have to be more careful about letting it show. I'll also lump in many of our top level Federal employees in the SES series as well as political appointments. There are exactly two politicians I'd trust with my dog and that's Rand Paul and Dan Crenshaw. All the rest can KMA.

I have no doubt that many are taking kickbacks likely through PAC's and offshore anonymous accounts to leave them alone or even give them assistance. If not then tell me why parts of New Mexico are posted to tell US citizens to not enter due to cartel activity? For the US to allow any part of it's territory to be occupied astonishes me and regaining control should be one of our highest priorities
