I was going through my stuff. I'm soon to give up my last 308 bang stick and was thinking about getting rid of some ammo as well.

I have 2 1260 round cases (Brown plastic box) South African 146 gr, match bullet, non corrosive, berdan primed. I think they are in battle packs but will have to check.

I can't find it online to check the going rate. Is it all gone?
I remember talk of the days when surplus would dry up... Are we there?

What are people paying per 1K of this right now?

lol, also found that I had over 15K left of .223

I searched on Gunbroker and the loose packed (in 20 round boxes) were going for .45 to .50 cents a round. The 140 round battle packed ones were .50 to .60 cents a round.

    .223 is about the same. .50 to .60 for 62 gr M855 / SS 109
.45 to .50 for 55 gr. Cheapest I found was Sellier and Bellot 55 gr FMJ for .48 a round.

    Melbo,

AIM sold the last of what they had for $50 a 140 round Battle Pack. Actually, they still have some at that price, but you have to buy a rifle to get it. I have seen it on the boards for $60 to $75 plus shipping. Depending on what you want, I might be interested in some or all of it.

PS - I have been toying with selling Karate Man's Camp 45. If you're interested, maybe we could work out a trade.

I've been paying $50.00 per 140 rd battle-pack for SA lately but it's getting hard to find. Let me know if you decide to part with it, I'll take as much of it as you want to get rid of.

I'd take 4 @ $50/140... However, you'd probably do well to set up a booth at a local gun show and sell them for more. Sorry to hear you need to get rid of it - it's pretty hard to accumulate now.

I'll try to get a couple more Raffle Tickets! early next week...

If your not in to big of a hurry you might even do better to hold on to it for a few months. Ive been hearing from multiple sources that ammo prices are going up 25% across the board at the first of the year, so it may be worth a fair bit more in a couple months.

At the Tulsa show I saw a ole boy selling some Hertenburg 308 for 1.38 a round.! Yes he sold it. Your S.A ammo has dried up by and large. In my humble opinion you would be wise to hold onto it for a while more and see what you can get for it. Last gun show that I was working with a buddy of mine who sells ammo I got 75.00 a battle pack for the 5 packs I sold.
L.C. is non existent, at least I haven't been able to locate any for awhile. S.A isn't far behind, I.M.I hasn't been seen for a long time. Most of the reputable ammo is in high demand. Check gunbroker and see what they are getting for it.

    Take care Be safe Poacher
