My own opinion is that it is illegal to bar confederate representation from a Veterans Day parade. His remark tho in jest does have a slight ring of truth to it. Now I'm no big fan of Sid Miller as I consider him to be bought and paid for by corporate farming just as Rick Perry was. Perry spelled the end to my small farm when he beat out Jim Hightower for Ag. Commissioner with the underhanded tactics of corp. farm and ranch, west tex mostly, and did away with most of the programs benefiting farms 25 to 200 acres including the farmers market program based on the Georgia model. Just my opinions, bitter as they are.

OTOH, The folks from the Confederate group have been in every parade I can remember. Well mannered, well displayed and was never awarded "The Best in Parade" as I believe the PTB just wanted them to go away and be silent.

But now the American Legion has gone against their by laws, that of making a political statement against another veterans group, and those who cannot represent them selves. That being a group who are long dead.

With Volunteerism at a all time low this can only hurt every veterans group.

The American Legion shall be absolutely nonpolitical and shall not be used for the dissemination of partisan principles nor for the promotion of the candidacy of any person seeking public office or preferment.

    POLICIES not partisan politics
