    Gabapentin
    Check with your Doc.

    This is now being used in Agent Orange Vets

    Brand Names: Gralise, Horizant, Neurontin
    Generic Name: gabapentin

    What is gabapentin (Gralise, Horizant, Neurontin)?
    Gabapentin is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant. It affects chemicals and nerves in the body that are involved in the cause of seizures and some types of pain.

    Gabapentin is used in adults to treat nerve pain caused by herpes virus or shingles (herpes zoster).

    The Horizant brand of gabapentin is also used to treat restless legs syndrome (RLS).

    The Neurontin brand of gabapentin is also used to treat seizures in adults and children who are at least 3 years old.

    Use only the brand and form of gabapentin your doctor has prescribed. Check your medicine each time you get a refill to make sure you receive the correct form.

    Gabapentin may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

    What are the possible side effects of gabapentin (Gralise, Horizant, Neurontin)?
    Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

    Seek medical treatment if you have a serious drug reaction that can affect many parts of your body. Symptoms may include: skin rash, fever, swollen glands, flu-like symptoms, muscle aches, severe weakness, unusual bruising, or yellowing of your skin or eyes. This reaction may occur several weeks after you began using gabapentin.

    Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor, such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself.

    Call your doctor at once if you have:

    • increased seizures;
    • severe weakness or tiredness;
    • problems with balance or muscle movement;
    • upper stomach pain;
    • chest pain, new or worsening cough with fever, trouble breathing;
    • severe tingling or numbness;
    • rapid eye movement; or
    • kidney problems--little or no urination, painful or difficult urination, swelling in your feet or ankles.
    Some side effects are more likely in children taking gabapentin. Contact your doctor if the child taking this medicine has any of the following side effects:

    • changes in behavior;
    • memory problems;
    • trouble concentrating; or
    • acting restless, hostile, or aggressive.
    Common side effects may include:

    • headache, dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness;
    • swelling in your hands or feet;
    • problems with your eyes;
    • coordination problems; or
    • (in children) fever, nausea, vomiting.
    This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

    What is the most important information I should know about gabapentin (Gralise, Horizant, Neurontin)?
    Some people have thoughts about suicide while taking this medicine. Children taking gabapentin may have behavior changes. Stay alert to changes in your mood or symptoms. Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor.

    Do not stop using gabapentin suddenly, even if you feel fine.

    Little to No side effects for me.
    A bit sleepy in the morning but no more feeling like I have large round river rocks between the bones in each foot.

    Agent Orange really sucks and I'm not giving in to such pains nor will I put up with any shit from any school yard bully screw ball that wasn't there.

    I will pick my time to leave this world, maybe 20 some odd years from now.

    I took Gabapentin for many years, VA switched me over to generic Lyrica, which I take for Neuropathy. An undesirable side effect of dizziness is almost as bad - (for me) as the neuropathy. However, if I try to go off either, well the pain prevents me sleeping.

    As for CBD, doesn't seem to help the pain of neuropathy for me. YMMV!

    Eating less, keeping the blood sugar down and weight under control, really do help me as much as anything, but there is still the problem of sleep, if I don't at least take something like gabapentin or Lyrica at night.

    If there are no requirements for testing you, the CBD can be had in a blend WITH THC, and in the right combination, can really work wonders for pain management!
    The real trick is to pick your blend and thr species it is derived from, there is a "Morning blend" and an "Evening blend" and within those, you can fine tune to your needs!

    I've found that a cream containing capsaicin(what makes not peppers hot) works well. Either OTC or prescription. I am looking into CBD oil as well. Also walking daily and staying active adds to over all health.

    Gabapentin worked for me. I had severe abdominal pain - In my case the doc said it was neuropathy caused by my weight loss. Less flesh requires fewer nerves. I took it for about 6 months and it did the trick.

    The capsaicin I have tried makes huge blisters on my legs so that's out. I'm om 3200mgs gabapentin a day now and have been for a very long time with little results. It helps enought not to quit taking it. Temp change is the worst. On top of it all I have a bad rash on my legs from the knees down. Doctors say there's not much they can do except go to narotics,something they don't want to do. I'm already taking 10-325 narco now with little help.

    Next time you see your quack, (sooner would be better) get hesheit to take a good look at that rash. Sounds like a case of cellulitis. If so, it'll take a serious antibiotic to clear up, take a month or so. Somehow, I think you've already checked that out, but just in case ---
    Here's what one case looked like in the early stage, went all the way up to the knee before we turned it..

    ankle spider bite.

    There are lots of positive solution to deal neuropathy pain. Using natural remedies is providing good results in the body. Few people are likes to CBD oil to deal this issue. My suggestion is, if you want to follow some medicine treatment, please seek doctor advice first. It may be providing good results in the body without making any side effects.

    I massage my legs at night and work the fluids up and encourage the veins to flow better.
    I made a foot roller and later found them available online to loosen up and improve the circulation in my feet and it works for me.
    I avoid modern medicines as they tend to have unwanted side effects, especially on the liver and kidneys.
