MINIMALIST GRIDDERS, No PERSON is an island. We all have to rely upon one another to some extent but we don't have to look far to find fellow human beans living in fear who are attempting in vain to make up for their chosen lack of basic intelligence by being fools of contrivance.
The best rules of thumb are, "you get more bees with honey", "don't be a victim nor make a victim", "live forthright and with purpose", "play the cards you got the best you can for nobody owes you nothin", and "you can humbly drive a p.o.s. car and be far richer than a greedy rich git". Peace.

Robert Plant ~ Ship of Fools ~ Best enjoyed extremely loud over stereo with good bass, (the sound not the fish).

You are correct, no man is an island. I certainly can't do everything my self nor do I know everything. Its forums like this and others to help inform people about which is the best approach to a problem one has. Sometimes we can be there physically or offer support in other ways. That some of the reasons why I am here. Monkeys Rock!

I can't do it all nor know it all, but if the SHTF I will close the beach and the US Marines would play hell crossing it.

I feel your passion but do you really think that civilians have anything that comes even close to the air, water and land deployed drones and piloted craft, satnav surveillance and guidance, hyperactive-adhd missles, assault vehicles, small, medium and large arms and just plain ole boots on the ground that usa's modern military force has? Cause if you do than that's how you get your stuff wrecked. Do you want to get your stuff wrecked because if you do that's how you do it?

Just my way of saying that, I can be an island in certain situations.

    Nothin wrong with that!

That's a good thing. I wish I had the time to grow more or even most of my own food, even more importantly preserve it.

The best fish is as soon as it's caught, you immediately clean it & cook it over a wood fire right then and there!

Having the skills to live in a particular environment or in many different environments can provide one independence to some degree, however there will be moments that having been alone there is the lack of purpose that takes it's toll, loneliness is every thing it's cracked up to be.
    What are you surviving for?

Loneliness is a state of mind, meaning, it doesn't exist anywhere except for within the mind. During periods of aloneness, it is good to remember that lonliness cannot exist unless we allow it to. Easier said than done you might ask? Absolutely, but consider the alternative to feeling lonliness, with all the negative mental/spiritual and even physical repercussions. Instead of visiting lonliness upn ourselves, we must force ourselves to get moving and doing even the simplest things to climb out if the pit of lonliness. What do you do when lonely comes over for a visit?

When I go to starbucks or Mc Ds I meet lonely people all the time telling me their woes. I don't have their woes but I pray for them and we talk a while .
I have blessings and God's intervention in my life for the woes that might visit from time to time, Praying for others I find I have fewer woes than every one else.
