First it was my Kroger brand Chilli.

Then it was my Banquet pot pies.

    Now it's my Totinos pizza.

So if you have a Totinos or Jenos pizza with pepperoni on it, you better google the recall.

    I'm having bad luck!

That's why people need to "TAKE ALL OF THAT NEGATIVE ENERGY" and turn it into a serious "POSITIVE" and stop making BIG BUSINESS $$$RICHER$$$ by buying their INFERIOR PRODUCTS/CR*P, and DO MORE FOR THEMSELVES!

The more that you DO FOR YOURSELF the LESS RECALLS AFFECT YOU!!!! Just my two cents! ;)

COOK YOUR FOOD PEOPLE! E.coli 0157:H7, Salmonella, Listeria Monocytogenes, even spore forming clostridium perfrigens are killed by simply COOKING YOUR FOOD! It doesn't matter if you had something that was recalled or not, as long as you cook it then it does not matter. Did you know that ground beef found to be contaminated with E. coli 0157:H7 during sampling is then diverted to a fully cooked facility? Why? Because then it is cooked, and the cooking kills the 0157. Cook your food and you will be fine.

E.L., I for one did not know that, but I posted another recall tonight, Cargill Company, product = ground beef. It's already in retail stores, are you saying it will be brought back & simply cooked & sold in another form ? annie

Annie, I would imagine that a lot of it would, it would depend upon the economic feasibility (cost of transportation, etc.) not to mention public perception. Here is the deal, e.coli 0157:H7 exist in the intestinal tract of beef animals, it always has. It is just within the last 10 years or so that we (the USDA, specifically FSIS) started testing for it. It was a reaction to the children that died after eating hamburger from Jack-In-The-Box that was not cooked properly. Then as, the Gov. is prone to do, we tried to identify and elimate it. To a large extent the intervention methods utilized within the last few years especially at the slaughter plants such as steam washes for carcasses, chemical washes, etc. (now before you worry about the word "chemical" these washes are performed on the carcass to prevent 0157 from cross contamination. The hides are not eaten, but the cross contamination occurs when fecal material is transferred from the carcass/equipment to the meat during the skinning of the animals) have prevented a lot of 0157 from entering the food chain. In the end, cooking the meat kills it. As long as you temp your meat (say 160 to be on the safe side) and do not cross contaminate in the kitchen (using same knifes, cutting board, etc. for raw meat as cooked) then it doesn't matter if that tube of raw ground hamburger is positive for E. Coli 0157:H7 or not. The fact is we cannot test each piece of meat there is, then there would not be any to sell or eat. Not to mention that shiga toxing producing E. Coli (other than 0157:H7) can be cause illness or death, and we do not even have a fast test developed for them. We cannot prevent and catch everything, the consumer still has to protect themselves by cooking their meat. If you do, and follow basic safe handling, then you will not have a problem.
