It's nice to see so many new members joining Survival Monkey. As someone who has moved many, many times in my life, I know what it's like to be the new kid on the block. In the beginning, it seems as though everyone else have been friends for a long time. There are illusions to inside jokes, references to family and friends in common, and a general sense of [SIZE=-1]camaraderie that you might not feel a part of quite yet[/SIZE]. Rest assured that this forum is an open and welcoming group. We look forward to your input and getting to know you as you get to know us, We're pretty easy going in temperment. We always enjoy discussions about prepping, politics, world events, and weaponry. Even when we disagree, we try to be polite to one another without walking around with a stick up our butts. So new friends, jump in and join the fun. Before you know it, you'll feel as much at home here as we old timers do. Welcome all.
Agreed +2 This is the first site that I have been on where don't have a bunch of clicks fighting with each other. With each of the clicks trying to pound their views down your throut because they and only they have all the right answers. OGM
That's the strange thing about this board. I have read many threads here and one thing that really amazes me is the participants can have huge differences in opinion and the discussion stays civil. The people here seem to have the utmost respect for the opinions of others. It is a real nice change from some of the other places I've been.
I'm glad that feeling is obvious to our members. A good debate stirs the blood but shouldn't leave anyone hot under the collar.
And some smart bastids too! I think we all realize none of us is as smart as all of us; even the couple of authors and well read history and philosophy scholars here engage in sporting debate respecting the opposition and the "maquis de queensbury's" rules (?)
I've been reading posts for months and have found mostly a friendly site. As i use a CC cleaner everyday, I sometimes don't log in and get kicked off after reading several posts. What I do enjoy is the welcome you feel here and the ability to express yourself and actually have some agree with you.
No cliques trying to push their opinions around. Except those darn Ron Paul guys Glad you like it. Our staff hammered out a lot of BS before we came up with our MO here. I think it works well.
I must say, this is the only site I've yet seen where the AR-AK debate didn't lead to the use of said weapons. And who could complain about a site with such interesting smilies? OSB

Yup, they are ours. We started with maybe 150. Dunno where they came from initially --. They've been breeding.
