What if ....

What if there was a virus that jumped from an exotic animal to a human being.
And what if that same virus could easily be spread from human to human.
And what if that virus started spreading at the same time as the seasonal flu.
And what if it got lost in the noise of the expected seasonal flu and no one took notice right away
And what if it smoldered for weeks or months hitching rides on workers of leather factories.
And what if the chemicals and processes used in these leather factories caused workers to cough and sneeze.
And what if the workers kept coming to work when they were sick producing leather goods.
And what if the sick workers got their sales people sick.
And what if the Italian buyers came to the plants full of sick sales people and workers multiple times a week to inspect the product and discuss new designs.
And what if these buyers flew back home to their colleagues before knowing they were infected.
And what if these buyers then met to discuss what they'd seen in meeting rooms as they became contagious.
And what if these buyers then went to conferences to discuss their supply chains, manufacturers and the latest haute couture.
And what if these buyers went out drinking, vacationing and frolicking passing the low grade pathogens to those around them.
And what if those around them went home unknowingly carrying a viable load of viruii with them to their friends and family.
And what if as the world started noticing that a region in a far off land started having medical issues where people were dying in scores.
And what if by the time anyone took great concern those that had flown home had scattered across their borderless lands.
And what if those that had scattered infected others that also scattered across the globe bringing with them their unintended passenger.
And what if some ignored the problem
And what if some purposely ignored the problem.
And what if people started to panic.
And what if watchers like to see the people panic.
And what if the watchers saw their opportunities grow.
And what if the opportunities included making the people do what they wanted.
And what if the opportunity forced small businesses to close.
And what if only the large multi national businesses that could operate globally during the crisis would remain open.
And what if only the governments could provide assistance to the people.
And what if the assistance was food, water, shelter and free money.
And what if the people were not prepared and had to accept the assistance from the government.
And what if the people had to give up rights and freedoms to get this assistance.
And what if they followed the forced rules to end the panic.
And what if the profitable small businesses before the panic that were built with hard labor, loans and backed by second and third mortgages now had to make a choice.
And what if that choice was to lose everything they had built or be beholding to the governments by taking their 'backed loans'.
And what if the businesses chose to not be under the leverage of the government.
And what if that choice results in the loss of tens of millions of good paying jobs.
And what if those that lost their good paying jobs now rely upon the government to provide the assistance to live.
And what if the assistance was food, water, shelter and free money.
And what if the people were not prepared and had to accept the assistance from the government.
And what did they have to give up to gain security.

And what if by doing nothing.
Those that are.
Gained all they had dreamed.

By everyone.

Sounds like a well thought out plan ,,, I wonder if it will ever be fully implemented here ?? If so ,,, hopefully I will have passed on ,, and be remembering better times ,,,,, in a better place .

 

And until I opened this my biggest WHAT IF was....... What if I blow my nose too hard and it blows through these cheap tissues I have on my desk?
