Hey guys, the border really needs help it’s pretty bad down there. Illegals and drugs are pouring across and regular people just don’t seem to care. There are a few rag-tag people that are desperately trying to help the border patrol. They are being extra eyes and ears that call the BP when they see something. These volunteers are spending their lifesavings their retirement money to equip themselves and maintain themselves there. Seems the rest of the country does not care. A few people that really care about this country are sacrificing what little they have to be there day and night patrolling. There are people volunteering from across the country. One comes from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on">Florida</st1:State>, another George, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Las Vegas</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">Minnesota</st1:State></st1:place>. If you even think you care about our country I suggest taking a trip to the border and see it with your own eyes. When you see it for yourself you will understand how bad the situation really is. Hopefully then you will either help or at least get word out and tell others what you saw and how bad it is.

I’ve spent 4 days total out there so far. I will be spending more time out there helping. We need more people out there. But I won’t kid you, it isn’t safe. Everybody has at least a pistol with them at all times. (loaded) Personally I have my SKS slung over my shoulder at all times. BP won’t give you any hell for your firearm because they understand it isn’t safe out there near the line. Between the drug runners and the coyotes (those that traffic people) it feels like a war zone, like an invasion. Find out for yourself.

I work near the Tex Mex border and it really is something that you have to see to believe. I had no idea from MSM just how bad it really is. I get paid to be here. I have all the respect in the world for folks who come here of their own volition. Thank you for your service to our country hartage.

E.L. Minuteman, thanks for the validation. I read a few posts in your border update thread out there in texas. Wow, I didn't know it was that bad the whole border. We have a few differences though. Out here near San Diego (campo) we have illegals going through every night in multiple groups. Drugs go through around 3 times a week. Those are the ones that we see God knows what the real number is. The methods vary..... sometimes its on someone's back being hoofed across. Sometimes it gets tossed over the fence to a waiting car/dirtbike/truck on our side. A short while back was their most brazen ploy. They built a removable RAMP that they placed on the fence and drove a whole freaking nissan truck OVER the fence. I guess the volume they need is so high backpacks just won't cut it anymore. Oh yeah that truck was loaded with 950 lbs of drugs yes they caught one.

As for getting carjacked and robbed. That does not seem to be an issue around here at least with us. We are all jumpy as hell when anywhere near the border. Most of us have infrared motion sensors on all sides of the vehicle to alert us if anybody approaches. Hoekey yes but they work great out to about 30ish feet. Yes they have saved people's butts plenty of times. They will for some reason try to approach the vehicle at night sometimes from behind. Don't know why. Everybody has a firearm with them all the time. Most of us carry long guns in the vehicle. We all have cell phones and FRS that we all monitor and the BP also monitor our FRS. If one of us gets into a hairy situation the rest of us come flying. Funny thing the BP because they monitor our FRS also come flying. They appreciate our help and try to look out for us best they can. We seem to have earned what amounts to profesional respect from the coyotes and drug runners. Not from being badasses mind you. I think they understand we are out there not because we hate them but hate what they do. I think they realize that we don't act like stupid thugs and just observe from a distance. I'm pretty sure they realize that we are usually better armed than the BP. Why do I think this ? (about professional respect) They used to take pot shots at us, throw rocks at us. I have been told no pot shots for almost a year. Rocks have tapered off to rarely. To the best of my knowledge we have never fired at them even if they take pot shots at us. (pot shots as in not meaning to kill us but shoot at/near us to intimidate.) Our response to their intimidation has been a united front. The rest of us come flying along with BP so they have learned intimidation is pointless. We have no issues with confrontations anymore.

Sorry to hear that you guys get car jackings out there.
