Nice when you inherit your dad's job. Never saw where he had any qualifications beyond being a son and an ultra liberal. My grand dad sold old guns to the English for arming their home guard, once before ww1 and once before ww2. England dis armed, Germany did not. Just saying what happened in past.

I understand the shooting rampage that triggered this was done using handguns, not "assault" weapons. I wonder if there were more concealed carry in Canada if the shooting would have even taken place or if fewer people would have been killed. Turning an entire country into a "gun free zone", which is where they are headed, will only leave criminals and terrorists armed while the rest hide or comply with them.

Seems like banning one type of firearm over the misuse of another is like requiring three point seat belts and airbags on a bicycle to prevent injuries sustained in automotive accidents. Not to mention that blaming the tool for the acts of a person is like sending a shovel to jail over the hole some @$$hole dug in your front yard.

 

I'd add a list of other things to ban but nobody has that much time! Just stupid.

Has Canada banned the weapons as just being a legal definition of existing law, or has it modified an existing law to include more weapons as illegal and thus it needs to be repassed? One way, it requires a vote, other way requires tame judges and just a change of "definitions" but USA freedom of movement and virus outbreak would seem to indicate that if the sheep go along, anything is "legal".

The first and biggest mistake was registering your gun in the first place! When they outlaw guns, I will become an outlaw. It's just one of those American things, plus I'm a Southerner to boot!

It (The OIC) was never meant to be used to create legislation. Only to enact or modify current stuff. We have entered into rule by decree, and no one even noticed.
