Not sure why but I see folks from Kali moving away from that state due to what the politicians THEY elected making the state environment less then desirable...

and then first thing they do in their new state... is vote in politicians from the same party...

politicians that will do pretty much the same thing in their new state...

if we wanted such people in charge we would have voted em in...

AND our state would be way less attractive to kali's

NOT having such people in such positions is what made your new state so popular?

boggles the mind... and they often seem to wonder why they're not welcome in their new state...

some of em even get all wild eyed and rabidly offended if the subject is brought up...

    anyways...

Dear California: Red States Are Full, So Please Stop Sending People There

Maybe all hope is not lost.
When it was cruz vs the beto bitch voter demographics show Cruz got more votes from "new voters" in 2018 than he did in 2012. And at least 100,000 people fled California for Texas during that time.
It could be the republican minority leaving the left coast for big red states like texas after felling disenfranchised election after election.

Sounds like splendid news...Red States turning purple....purple is such a nice egalitarian inclusive colour (both red and blue can .

Had to laugh at the website that you linked the article to...."Facts Not Memes"

it used a meme to illustrate its point.

Nice attempt at inclusiveness, featuring the conservative token African American....what? No Hispanics in Texas?

We see the same thing in SC. People move here from Sh*thole cities up north, then do their damndest to make things just like they were up there. Never understood it.

Come here and live it. Then you will be qualified to comment on it. Just making a "point" to piss people off is beneath someone of your intelligence.

I note that you don't seem to be excited about blue states turning purple. Personally I like governments that have a strong loyal opposition. It makes it hard to pass purely partisan legislation. This means that the political minority has representation and that only the laws that have bipartisan support get passed..

The problem we have is that our blue party believes in getting what it wants by any means necessary. They are a disloyal opposition in our purple states. They will do to anything to disrupt the process to get what they want.Live and let live left the Blue Machine a long time ago.

I was once a "blue" voter, because it wasn't always like this. I watched the change and I watched it from the inside. I watched it happen and eventually got so sick of it I left it behind me. I have childhood friends who went along with the radicalization and some are leaders within it. They have nothing but contempt for people who have different opinions than theirs and to a person are of the belief that they can make better decisions about your life than you can. They get a lot of pleasure by causing strife to their opponents. They have no qualms about damaging your property or waging physical violence against people who don't "vote the right way". There is no live and let live. There is only crush and control. Their slogan is "By any means necessary" sometimes you will see it as BAMN. To them the ends justify the means. I didn't just read this "on the Internet", I live it.

I'm certain the above will get a response of cherry picked articles showing US right wing violence against the left. Remember I live here and I live it. Your view of the US is every bit as distorted as my view of Australia would be based on what I can find on line. That's why I don't make comments on a country I've never been to.

My state is a blue state. The left here has gotten just enough legislative seats to get a super majority. Super majorities here are not required to include the minority in legislative actions, and so they don't. It wasn't that way decades ago when the roles were reversed. Our loyal opposition, Republicans, have no purpose at our Capitol other than provide quorum so that Democrats can vote to enact laws they had no part of. Not included in proposing, drafting. Not allowed to do other than giving their opinion that it not wanted or taken into consideration. It is a one party system that treats their political opposition as enemies to be exterminated. Every law they pass takes control from the citizen subjects and gives it to the political class.

Yes, they got that power through votes. Those votes came from people fleeing a certain state they destroyed by voting in politicians that did the same to their previous state. Can you guess what state that is? Personally I think they should have to go the fuck back and live with the consequences of their actions rather than come here and fuck up my state. It doesn't even take a lot of them to tip the balance. Most US states are pretty divided between red and blue. Shift 5% one direction gives a solid majority. Shift another 5% and you are closing in on a super majority and inviting tyranny. I'll acknowledge that some of those who flee California get it and are fleeing the tyranny there and value the relative freedom of their new home.

Just a little perspective from someone who is riding the ride and not watching from the sidelines.

WHen I worked for the other phone compamy, we had a fellow come work there.

Said he was from Califlower. Asked if I had any advice.

"Well, don't say you're from California. Tell 'em you ran a gay bathhouse in Phnom Penh but decided to move back Stateside."

    "What the hell?"

"No simple, really. You'll get at least some respect for running a small business in a difficult overseas environment. Otherwise, you're just another asshat from the coast..."

    "I don't understand."

"And that," I told him, "is the problem. Save your paycheck. I predict you'll be moving back 'home' before the end of next winter."

    He left that next December...

    He wasn't missed.

great post @3M-TA3 ... my sister and i were discussing this the other day. We both use to be democrats and still are an old school democrat but the party leadership just went in the wrong direction with corruption and no honor or integrity so we both switched to republican.... the problem for me is i am more of a libertarian but in true libertarian fashion, libertarians are not very politically organized.

This for me, is why debating politics based on corrupt main stream reporting is just pointless.
The media is not just controlled in teh USA either. Consider withdrawing from media and make up your own mind based on the actions your politicians take. Not on what they say they are doing or what the media wants to program you into believing.

In short learn to think for yourself based on the actions of others, not post rehashed programing.

I'm considered a Classic Liberal, which is effectively a Libertarian (definition from Classical liberalism - Wikipedia):
"Classical liberalism is a political ideology and a branch of liberalism which advocates civil liberties under the rule of law with an emphasis on economic freedom. Closely related to economic liberalism, it developed in the early 19th century, building on ideas from the previous century as a response to urbanisation and to the Industrial Revolution in Europe and North America.[1][2][3] ..."

In Oregon that makes me a Right Wing Terrorist/Extremist, or, as a Neo Liberal AKA Bernie Bro would say "Literally a NAZI!".

The difference between Classic and Neo Liberalism?
    • I believe in the same civil rights for people regardless of gender, race, religion, culture, etc..
    • Neo Libs believe that certain groups need to be more equal than others.
    • I believe that rights are individual rights and limit the control of government.
    • Neo Libs believe that rights are group rights and that they differ based on group. They also believe that rights are granted by the government and subject to being revoked at any time. In other words they can't differentiate between a right and a privilege.
    • I believe that businesses should mostly be left alone unless their operations have an obviously detrimental impact on others
    • Neo Libs think that all aspects of businesses should be licensed, controlled, and monitored by the government. Central planning is high on their list of priorities, and some of the people I know are crushed that most of our state is being opened up and there is a chance that businesses will recover.
    • I believe that I am the person best suited to make my own decisions about my life and how I live.
    • Neo Libs think that only a government official is qualified to tell me how to live my life (and very soon what I am allowed to eat. Yes, it's coming.).
I could go on and on, but you get the gist on West Coast Neo Liberalism.

For the Wet Coast, I could almost tell you the exact date it all went sideways, it was September 1983, Springfield Oregon, a Little California Transplant ( Illegal Alien) Spotted Owl was "Found" and the Party started. Eco Terror at it's finest, and a great start to the take over! All the Ultra Liberal Collages were in full swing turning out the next crop of Leftists socialists and it was a perfect firestorm of democratic wet dreams of expanded party power! That was the beginning of the end! I remember all the protests and all the violence, I remember the "Collage's" turning out their "unbiased" reports and findings, and I remember THOUSANDS or people put out of work, an entire industry destroyed in a matter of weeks! You couldn't give away a brand new Log Truck, and most sat and got vandalized, or stripped for parts, and otherwise forgotten, many were privately owned and operated! Whole towns and cities dried up and went away, those few that remain are forever lost to time, frozen in the moments when the mills were closed, the trucks stopped, and all the supporting businesses closed forever! This state lost BILLIONS in a time when Billions was really something, and the state was bankrupt, needing a masive fed bailout, something that had never happened before, but a sign of things to come soon to many other states!

Pretty much killed the timber industry including paper. Led to the closing of the paper plant in my town and the near demise of the one across the river. IIRC over 1,500 jobs lost right there alone.

Every state has it's own "spotted owl" as well. Nevada and Idaho have the bull trout. Seems to be endangered, yet somehow lives in every river and stream in Southern Idaho and Northern Nevada giving the Forest Service full control. I accidentally stumbled on The Jarbridge Shovel Brigade on my way home after visiting my then GF in Twin Falls and decided to take the back roads. It's a great story about how citizens stood up to Clinton's eco tyranny and won.

    YUP,
These forests are old and they do not forget or forgive, and the bodies will continue to be buried in them so long as there are those who would devote their lives to undoing that of others in the name of democratic planned utopia!

Shovel Brigade - I remember that. I lived in Northern Nevada (Elko) at the time.

Seems the Forest Service was no longer going to maintain a certain road used by many hunters and campers because it would involve the use of "powered equipment" to do so. But the real intent was to allow the road to deteriorate in order to shut people out, thereby keeping the public off public lands. Had they gotten away with that, they would have allowed all forest service roads in the area to fall into such disrepair.

So a bunch of people got together with shovels and rakes and fixed the road by hand. Around town as a symbol of protest, people were driving around with shovels bungee corded to the grilles of their vehicles and stuck handle first in the stake pockets of their pickup beds.

And true story on the Dolly Vardens. They were quite common, but somehow declared as a "threatened species".

There was a lot of harassment of the ranchers as well that ended up in the courts. I don't know what the final disposition was or what the circumstances were.

All of it was a result of Clinton's war on outdoor life.
