Wondering the best place to order mostly cheap bulk ammo (38 and 223) online. What's your favorite place?

Anybody had experience ordering ammo or whatever online from Midway USA? Everything go ok?

Have ordered plenty from Midway USA, including some ammo, and have never had a problem. I recommend them.

I have also bought from midway USA with no complaints. You can also look at cheaper than dirt and sportsmans guide, have delt some with both and also had no complaints with them.

Have bought several hundreds of dollars of things from Midway over the years and will continue to buy from them , great products , prices and customer service .

The great thing about them is they carry a whole lot more than ammo .

Quigley - read your post about Ammoman. I have made 4 different purchases from him and got everything as ordered. I did find it strange that I did not have to sign for the ammo when delivered. It is still buyer beware on all internet purchases and always use a credit card so at least you have leverage to get your money back.

Best advice I can give about on-line ammo purchases is to buy all you can afford, get a second job, throw a kid out, and buy more.

Every time I buy ammo my adult son thinks when he wants some he'll just buy some of mine. I try and try to get him to think about buying his own while it's still available. Got a nephew does the same thing, he seems to think I only buy ammo to sell to my son and him. [dunno] "HAND - TO - MOUTH, I TELL YA!" [dunno] Most of got it from his mother... Same as the nephew, at least I know his parents raised him that way, my son should know better. Maybe I just didn't have much influence on him when he was growing up. What I get for working all those hours evenings and weekends all those years he was growing up.

Trapper, don't sell or give them any ammo, make them buy it.

I've purchased and had good experiences with J&G, Cabelas and Natchez Shooters Supply. I would have no problem recommending any of these sellers to you or anyone. Sportsman's Guide has good prices but if they are backordered on an item you can wait a good long while for your items, when you do get them it is like a mini-Christmas...so I guess that is good.

Have had good luck with Midway and Cabaleos, but if at all possible, I try to buy locally and not just from Walmart. It may cost a little more, well sometimes quite a lot, but if you don't patronize the local gun dealer, he will not be there when you need a gun worked on, or want to look at a gun or get a gun shipped to a FFL.

A good local gun shop can be kind of like the Army scout. He looks and takes the chances and then reports back. I figure 15 to 20 % above mail or net is fair. If you aren't happy, you have someone to talk to, pay no freight, he handles the paper work and has the range that I use for free. Can't say that he costs me much. He also has about 10,000 rounds of 223 in stock when I need some,

If it was me I would buy from various local businesses and gun shows...AND ALWAYS USE CASH!!! Gonna be hard to claim that you sold or lost that gun in a tragic boating accident years ago when you are still buying ammo for it! The online dealers, credit card companies, banks, delivery services, etc. all keep records of those purchases, and most will/have shared that information with GOD knows who. Can you say, "backdoor gun registration?"!
I know this guy, he has a burner phone that he keeps in a mailbox in front of an empty house near where he lives. He places his online orders over this phone, pays with a pre-paid debt card, and watches for the delivery. I wish that I had a set-up like that, but no empty houses near me.
