Did You Watch the Debate

Ron Paul was pretty well ignored unless the question was specifically addressed to him.
However, if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the other Representatives are starting to mention the Constitution a lot more often and spouting some of Ron Paul's stands.
Of course, not on policy & the war, but on a lot of other stuff.

Anyway, It would have been a lot better if they could ignore Romney & Julie Annie....Just how many ways can one person say how wonderful they are?

I think Tom Tancredo does a good job too. He and Duncan Hunter are
about as ignored as Ron Paul.

Ron Paul made a HUGE mistake. Someone tried to spell it out to him (youtube) that he should go independent. That would remove the stigma of voting for a REPUBLICAN aka the monsters that did this to us. (yes, yes I'm well aware I'm generalizing but I'm entitled to my opinion) His response was "I am a republican". That just immediately took a block of voters out that otherwise might have voted for him. That is MY biggest beef with RP he might not smell like a republican (according to some here). But I'm sure as hell not going to vote for someone that calls himself the same name of the group that buried us. The bitter pill that is the republicans will be remembered for some time to come. If RP does not behave like a republican he shouldn't call himself a republican.

Ron Paul represents the ideal and what the Democratic Republicans (yes, that is what the Republicans used to be called when this party was created by Thomas Jefferson!).

The problem is Republicanism and Democratism has morphed into what we see today: Two parties with very little differences....they both suck; however, these parties have created a system where it is almost impossible for a 3rd party candidate to get funding, get on the ballots, and even get into the debates. Also, the media will constantly dismiss a third party candidate because the media is controlled by the big businesses that rely on Repubs and Dems being in power and taking their money. The businesses don't want this kind of change because it will mess with the influence.

The 'democratic' system in the US is not as democratic as we think it is. That is why he has to say he is a republican...and if you go back and reread all of Jefferson's writings, you will notice that Ron Paul espouses true Republicanism and the other candidates do not!

Ron Paul had to go for the Republican party if he has any chance at all to become the next President, period. Remember what happened when Ross P. ran, we got Klinton!!! Do we really want that again? Whatever, I hope Ron can pull it off, the bigger fools the other candidates show themselves to be is more hope for Ron. If only the other Republican candidates stood for what the party actually used to stand for when it was founded. Most of the Rep. candidates today look more like Democrats to me.

Ron should of said yes I'm running on the Republican ticket. I'd like this opportunity to invite independants fed up with the system to help me change that. He could of used the moment to attract them as well. I hope that people vote for the man not the party. We know that Ralph Nader and Perot just split the vote up. Both parties still realize that Kennedy and Reagan was the was probably the best standards for each. Who is running as an independent?

    Hartage-

Ron Paul absolutely is a republican. He's definitely running in the right party. The problem is that none of the others are republicans. Those in control of the republican party today are actually nothing more than democrats who didn't approve of the social changes their party advocated in the 60's. They only appear conservative by comparison to the ever increasing liberalism of the democratic party. How they gained leadership in the republican party is beyond my ability to explain concisely.

By it's traditional definition in this country, Ron Paul is as solidly conservative as anyone in politics.

The group that buried us wasn't the republican's, it was the corporate controlled politicians of BOTH parties....... so don't vote for any of them.

He is wearing the name of oppression, of massive spending, the name of corruption. Makes it very hard to drink or even taste a bottle that has poison on the label.

But everyone with any chance of winning is wearing the name of one of the 2 evils. That's just how our system works, to the extent that it does.

If you think he's chosen his party based on political expediency, there's probably some truth to that. But with the notable exception of Kucinich, everyone else in the race seems to have chosen his/her BELIEFS based on political expediency.

Again, please try not to judge Dr. Paul based on what other people have done to his party. And please don't accept my, or anyone else's opinion on him. Look at his actual record, and see if that lines up with what you believe. And by all means, do the same for every other candidate.

Oh I'm not hovering over the vote button over any dems either. The best candidate there hilary even if she does carry with her the experience of bill still carries other things with her. She IS the establishment. She is a very polished product of the lobbying machine.

You could say my vote is soooo ready for another party. Too bad RP decided to wrap himself in the flag of the enemy. Whatever his record is the actions of the republicans past 7 years the stench of their name is overpowering.

Just between you and me, and a few hundred of our closest friends, [beer] it doesn't look to me like Dr. Paul is running much of a primary campaign. He has more money than most of them, but he isn't spending it. I think he's just riding the republican debates to boost his name recognition. So if it's a third party candidate you're looking for, I expect Paul will be one.

If/when that time comes I will seriously look at him. As a dem I might grudgingly vote as an independent and a decent person I practicly guarantee my vote. As a republican, I don't care if it is Mother Teresa reincarnated, hell no.

Lou Dobbs has been promoting Independents for awhile now If Ron would turn at the right moment, it would be the hail mary for the Touchdown. He is the least corruptable of them all.

    This Pisses Me Off!

Huckabee got big CNN coverage for saying he wanted to do away with the IRS in the debate........ What! Ron Paul's been saying that all along and they don't give him the time of day. They acted like this was the first time they ever heard of it and were amazed.

    Going Off Topic here

My son has this on his my space account.....and I found it very good.
Hartage, it might be of real interest to you regarding Ron Paul

Now there is a lot before you get to a very good recording of Ron Paul. He wanted me to see the lions get the young water buffalo??(we think) and what happened then and it was good. But the Ron Paul is him in action...not in a debate, but what he does every day in the House, I really think you will be impressed.

Er -uh, sorry that ""mad as hell" rant is a famous monologue from a newscaster in the movie "network". I can see rp cheering that; but its not him or any other real politician (I think his name is "Albert Finney).

Still I enjoyed the video.perhaps ron's supporters should organize a mass march..people could meetup in dc. Everyone asks "What are You doing"? I think that phrase has become meaning less, "Doing" means we write checks. Not gather and run off the lions.
