If the country isn't in an emergency mode and in distress - has it ever been? Not sure how to get a nationwide movement started - but thought a word here is appropriate .....
Both my American Flags are flying upside down (distress mode) and have been since the day after the stolen election was held. Both will continue to fly in destress mode for the next 4 years or until there is a change in in this illegitimate government.
Upside down is a time honored distress signal, tho' really outdated since the day of sailing man-o-warsman ships sailed the seas, and flags were the only way to communicate ship to ship. Today, if used, I think it would be for a very local incident. There are folks that would use it as a symbol for a government out of control. Not my cuppa, but YMMV.
Not only have I hoisted the Jack up side down, I have also hoisted the Black and Bones, let them come, they will find me ready to discuss terms of their surrender, or their death!
If you take prisoners,, you'll have to feed'em ,, don't see much need in sharing my feed with someone that didn't like me to start with.
John, I admire your idea and commitment. Yes, it is an age-old symbol of distress and sends a clear message. I also will leave it in that manner until this illegitimate government is gone and hope, with God's help, it will not be 4-years. Furthermore, I will start asking everyone I know do to the same. There are groups and clubs springing up all over here since 3 November. They will do it...of that I am sure. It's the perfect symbol in all ways... EDIT: It's 8pm, cold (32F) and dark out but just turned my flag. It will remain this way until we have our voice back - meaning - a honest vote, a Republic again.
I get a big kick out of 'Splainin the flag to folks around here! Had a couple that got super upset ( democrats) and after I explained it to them, they were pretty understanding as to why I fly my flag up side down, and also why I'm flying the Black and Bones! They might not ever speak to me again, but I garantee they will not ever say anything "Democratic" to me again, not will they preach Biden/Harris around here!
I am going to pitch this to two different groups, ~100 folks this week, all my neighbors, and I am considering 'trying' to call the Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh show. Symbols are important and say more than can ever be expressed in words. @Ura-Ki I would have loved to been a fly on the wall and hear your explaining yourself to two angry Democrats. LOL! And, yes, I bet they understood because they know the election was stolen! LOL! But, the joke is on them because he stole it not just from us but from them also...they just ain't got the punchline yet. Idiots.
Agree conservatives should stand together and show their solidarity flying the flag in distress mode is a great way to do it. It would be a great way for local businesses to show they are a conservative business --- display a flag decal in distress mode on their door
I bought some little window flag stickers at the store the other day and am putting them on all of my cars and trucks .
The fun part of it wasn't the flag upside down, It was me 'splainin the meaning of the Black and Bones, and how that storied bit of U.S. Naval history fits in to things today! I bet very few folks know about that, and would be very shocked, especially knowing I fully intend to honor those traditions!
Oddly enough I told a liberal friend (yes, we still manage to get along) about the distressed flag years ago. He flew it for his side. And now the shoe is on the other foot. He even asked me the other day about it. Short conversation. We quickly turned to fishing talk. We're doing the best we can to stay friends. I like him. I like paddling and fishing with him. I will do my best to keep that friendship. Even if he catches more fish...
I have had to dump some over the hill liberal friends and have a brother in law who is ultra liberal (in your face) who since the Obumer years I refuse to talk to.
My friend is ok with accepting my views as mine. Unless that changes, I will count him as a friend. I have purged or been purged of psycho libs I thought I knew. Most have advanced degrees. Hmmmm...
