"Bush has demanded retroactive immunity for any telecommunication company that participated in the warrantless spying program begun shortly after the September 11 attacks."

I was watching CNN yesterday, for the Ron Paul coverage, and they were talking about the administration now blocking any investigations into the destroying of the video tapes of interrogations of terrorists.

I don't care what your political leanings, I don't see how anyone can deny that this has been the most secretive administration in memory. Government should, must, be transparent if it is to be held accountable for it's actions.

They expect us to willingly allow invasions of our privacy if "we have nothing to hide" yet they are unwilling to do the same. Do as I say not as I do.

recieved from one of my senators:
    Dear Mr. XXXXXX

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding your
concerns about H.R. 1955, the Violent Radicalization and
Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007.

As you may know, H.R.1955 amends the Homeland
Security Act of 2002 and adds provisions concerning the
prevention of terrorist acts committed by individuals born, raised,
or primarily residing in the United States. It directs the Secretary
of Homeland Security to establish a grant program to study the
methods used by foreign nations to incite groups and individuals
within the U.S. to commit terrorist acts. The act prohibits the
Department of Homeland Security from violating constitutional
rights and civil liberties of U.S. citizens and permanent residents in
its efforts to prevent terrorist acts.

The House of Representatives passed H.R.1955 on October
24, 2007 on a 404-6 vote. The Senate Committee on Homeland
Security received the bill, but no further action has taken place, nor
am I a member of that committee. While I fully support efforts to
secure this country and its citizens from further terrorist attacks,
both at home and abroad, we should strive to do so without
compromising the very liberties that make this country great.
Please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind as the
    Senate considers this bill.

Sen Herb Kohl wi(notice its says we should not we will!!)

GWB will shield those that helped with spying on us, he has pardoned several drug dealers at this point, pardoned Scooter Libby in a millisecond.....

But he refuses to pardon our Border Agents.

I think we're going to learn his secret identity any day now.... Voldemort ;)
