Wonderful, so now when blackwater lunatics get drunk we will get AMERICAN casualties instead of iraqi casualties.

I would love to have the same privilege as blackwater. Can I go off and blow away people at work and the worst happen to me is I loose the contract and get sent home ?

I'm reading "Blackwater USA" right now and it says Blackwater dudes were patrolling NO after Katrina. They will definitely be used here against us, and if they kill you there won't be a penalty paid. If you kill one of them however, then they will definitely kill you.

    So sniper,you've met these guys...
is all the "concern" unwaranted??? Would they refuse an unconstitutional order from corporate hq? Are they sworn to uphold anything other than the corporate bottomline???

I've met these guys too and many other contractors, and that is what you have to be aware of most; they are "Contractors" hired to do a job. These guys are not disciplined soldiers, they are kind of the "Union" version made up from loose cannons, adventurers, and flakes that just never really adjusted to life back in the world. Some of them are very skilled but all of them are mis-firing in a few synapses. These are the guys that recruit from "Soldier of Fortune" magazine. They are wanna-be bad-boys that hit pay-dirt and get paid very well to be bad-boys.

The ones that I talked to in NO were pretty down to earth guys, mostly military that got out and hired onto a job that pays double or more what they were getting paid before. Were they turned inward in NO, yes. I met alot of them in Iraq, most of them were regular soldiers that got out of the military when they got home and hired on for the same reasons, money. Usually single guys that love the adrenalin rush. Are they few cards short of a deck, many are, but that is why they are liked by the company.
Are you asking if they will turn inward, all I can say is that I saw snipers going into NO and at the time,it made me feel safer because I was the one getting shot at and when they come back, we didn't get shot at anymore, so it is a double edged sword. I don't think you will ever see them come in without weapons in hands, so take that for hat you will.

Our company hires them and others on occasion, for security, particularly when working in a less than friendly environment (ships don't always sink in friendly places). We will be hiring them again when we return to Trinidad next summer for an extended period. They do what they are paid to do quite well....that's the problem that I have with them being deployed against any of our population, especially in our so-called "War on drugs", I might want to smoke marijuana again some day.

Well maybe I am off base here but I would think any1 who was detained or harassed in NO by them would have a good case for a law suit .

I am by no means a legal expert but I would bet they don't have the lawful authority to do what they have done or are being hired to do on U.S. soil .

They are not trained and or hired as law enforcement personnel either federal or state and I doubt their people were even so much as a licensed as security guards in Louisiana .

For them to make the claim even that they are/were Government employees would be insane as if that is all it took to be allowed to carry weapons every government worker would have to be granted the same power including pencil pushers and desk jockeys on a nation wide basis .

A dispatcher in a local municipality isn't allowed to carry a weapon because they are not trained and licensed police officer any more then a secretary for the FBI is a trained and armed agent .

In my home state of Missouri to the best of my knowledge there are only a few classes of lawfully armed people , 1 would of course be LEO's 2, security guards , 3 those citizens that have a state approved CCW and 1 and 2 have strict requirements as to what they are allowed to carry .

For instance here in MO if Blackwater made the claim they were licensed security guards they would be restricted by state law to a 38 special revolver .

One thing that I have always wondered about that may have some relevance on this is ....

If you all recall back in the 1800's the Pinkerton security agency provided the protection for the president , when they were given powers of investigation of suspected assassins and arrest the Secrete Service was created that not not only deals with Protection but is under the umbrella of the Treasury department .

What I am getting at is perhaps forces like Blacwater being used on American soil may not be Constitutional as it is for all practical purposes a Private Army/Police force controlled by the government yet does not answer to the nations lawfully elected officials nor is the President their Commander and Chief .

hmmmm... perhaps they can be "deputized"(for lack of a better word) as federal marshals with the stroke of a presidential pen ....???

The government hires them and therefor wont be denying they have authority and beyond that they carry their authority with large capacity mags, if they are acting outside the law then the only authority that would stop it would be better placed authority.

Being they are pretty much being brought back to do this because they were run out of Iraq for geting out of hand, it kid of reminds me of a dog a school mate had when I was a kid. Some of their relatives had a while german shepherd on a farm and it kept going out and killing cattle...so they decided to bring the dog home to their place in the burbs and turn it loose in their unfenced yard. I was about 8 when he got ahold of my leg...the scar still shows nice and clear. I also wasnt the first or last kid he got ahold of and I dont think any were even in his jurisdiction..er yard.

I kind of figure we will see about the same from Black water when we bring them home and turn them loose to 'guard' in our yard here.

I saw this in the comments on that site. Is this there any truth to this statement or is he talking out his rear?

He could be refering to the private prisons "for profit" that have been built around the country. Most of them remian unoccupied, the reasoning being that they are awaiting legislative approval to commence operations. The prison force would work to support the institution. Sort of an old time chain gang type of set up only privately built and run.
I don't have a link to any stories on this but a search should bring up some info. It is not conspiracy theory, it has been reported on in MSM, albeit on back pages and in a favorable light.

I could actually make a pretty good case for using convict labor, at least from an economic standpoint. Seems like it would save some gubbmint money and help the infrastructure. Maybe Blackwater could guard the jobsites? Only shoot things with orange suits? (Then again, they might be too pricey to do what a deputy could do with a 12 bore.)
