Now that is an intresting idea.. my suggestion on this would be since you are using water from YOUR water bottle, and in a survival situation you would want to save your water you may want to make sure the condom isn't one of those special lubed types. YUUUCCCCKKKK.

Hey, I've used condoms drift fishing for Kings offshore, The Kings would pop a regular balloon on the strike.
Condoms held up better and lasted longer.

 

I have used balloons for line fishing...only ever caught pelicans...i guess i should remove the helium from the party ballons first???

 

Have you tried making fire from balloon, condom or soda bottle magnifier? How about a Hershey bar polished beer can bottom?
