Just wondering if there are any Firefly fans around besides me. I'm a big Sci-Fi nut anyway..... been in love with Star Trek and Star Wars since I was a kid, and Firefly has been the first thing in a decade to compete with those two. For anyone who doesn't know about it, but likes good sci-fi... It's available on dvd, and once you've watched all the episodes, then watch the movie Serenity (not before).
It was very good, and a cult classic. With a little better PR it would have been a sure-fire hit. A while back I visited a couple of boards that were dedicated to trying to bring it back.
I'm a big fan of sci fi. Sad to see firefly bite the dust. I've been watching stargate from the very beginning and now stargate atlantis. Can't wait for stargate arc of truth to come out. But glad the beauty that is Jewel Statie still graces the small screen as stargate atlantis Dr. Keller.
I don't watch Stargate, so I had no idea "Kaylee" was on it.... hell, I may have to start watching now
I discovered Firefly just as it was cancelled - "DOH!" But I did get the DVD set, and then saw the movie. The movie did answer a lot of questions left hanging in the series. Don't see them 'out of order'! For awhile, it looked like it would be brought back - the actors were up for it! But it hasn't materialized yet. I'm a sci-fi fan too - but most are either on too late, or on Cable/Satellite - my rabbit ears just aren't up to the task . . .
I LOVED Firefly and thought Serenity was great. I just wonder why hollywood can't make more shows like that.
Great show with a good cast. To bad FOX killed off a good show in a SUPERBAD time slot. At least Sarah Connor/Terminator is getting good reviews, and without new programs it is about all there is. Anybody recall 'Space Above and Beyond?' FOX killed that one off prematurely as well.
Yep, "Space Above & Beyond" was another good one! Kicking Chig butt the hard way! taser1 One I liked too, not Sci-fi, was "Coventry Cross", a middle-ages series. Kindof "Robin Hoodesque". Only ran maybe five or six episodes. Far better stuff than the insipid drivel other networks show.
