Unfortunately, and it involved alcohol and not as a disinfectant!! Same result!

No. Dentist took one out and 6 months later had to cut out a piece he missed. I was not a happy camper. Need a lot of strength, special tools and a good bit of knowledge. That would be a good profession for after TSHTF as a bad tooth hurts and can kill you.

Mine were impacted but the adjacent molar was one sick SOB. Got hold of it with a pair of needle nosed Vice grips an the damned thing shattered. I was in the Navy at the time and the onboard dentist did his best to make sure I never did anything like that again. I swear he shot me with saline instead of Novocain!!

I served on submarines for 20 years, that was the absolute worst case scenario of our medical emergencies. the Navy required that every submariner, have gone through the surgeries of having all four wisdom teeth removed, before we could even report onboard to our first submarine.

Pulled most of mine a while back. Had to go to the dentist to get the fangs. I kept my super advanced tooth puller tool for posterity. Molars were the easiest. Just slipped it over each one and started twisting the stick reeling the twine in until the wet sucking pop happened. Have a bag somewhere with the teeth, thought they were with the super advanced tooth puller tool but not finding them there :( I did have to bump some pretty good with another stick by whacking it with a mallet to loosen them up a bit and had to get under two between the roots with a little screw driver and pry up while keeping pressure with the sticks string. Fangs I just could not get, twine kept slipping of and nothing for the screw driver to get a bite on under the gums :( In hind sight I should have downed at least half a bottle of wild turkey BEFORE not AFTER LOL. Didn't hurt much until the nerves started stretching and right before they broke...... Then it hurt and for about 5 minutes after the nerve broke and the tooth was popped out. After the 8th one or so it was just yay wow more pain and pretty much desensitized to it.

Can remember I was in the service and my wisdom teeth (all 4) were giving me a fit. Went to the military dentist and saw a young 2nd lewwy who had this tool --broke the teeth up and pulled out the pieces--thank god for nova cane. Did two teeth and had to go back the next week for the other two. I think the guy was in training.

Oral Surgeon will numb your ass, hit you with some laughing gas.
bust out a diamond saw, cut the tooth in 3 pieces and extract.
    30 minutes and 180 bucks.
way less recovery time than the old elevator, crunchy pliers and using your skull/jaw for leverage at the dentists' office.

Have had them yanked both ways. I prefer the oral surgeon hands down.

Don't mess around, go see the dentist, trust me!
I got the cancer after I broke a couple teeth and had an emergency extraction at the E.R. few years later, got a hell of an ache and went in to have it checked out, ended up with the cancer in my face right below the right eye! They pulled the tumor and put me on the chemo, nasty shit I tell ya! All because the doctor missed a chunk and it got all infected and formed a tumor!

County health departments will pull it for free if you don't have insurance and are below 2x the national poverty rate.

I totally agree. Don't mess around with a molar. I had one wisdom tooth that that the roots had grown into hook shape and it was holy hell to get out, thought that guy was going to yank my head off. I was so numb that I didn't feel anything (until next day!) but sure as hell heard it! LOL!
