Jimmy Rawles is planning ahead to keep his blog going WHEN it gets wiped off the WWW >>>> The SurvivalBlog – Old School (S.O.S.) Newsletter DISCUSS
With censorship on social media becoming more of a threat to freedom of speech, we need to look to the past for ways to communicate with one another and to disseminate information, and those are newsletters, newspapers and magazines. When the Campaign Reform Act threatened the ability of the National Rifle Association to communicate with their members concerning national, state and local elections, they started their own news agency complete with journalists, magazines, podcasts, radio and TV programs, etc., and defended both the 1st and 2nd Amendments in the process!
The Federal government used to, and might still, claim to be able to deliver the mail in the aftermath of a nuclear war. Folks were worried that they wouldn't get their Social Security, and pension checks, but now we have direct deposit, so everything is good!
still do - and have added delivery under any circumstances to justify the heavy arming of the postal inspectors and having their own SWAT type teams >>> if you have looked thru the ABCs FED agencies budgets and seen M16s & ammo expenditures under USPS - they expect to bunker the local PO buildings & sort centers & guard deliveries in regard to the local PO buildings - one in most every podunk town in America >>> old old nationwide prepper group used to use them for the recommended "safe house" meet point for assisting group members with local aid - a member caught traveling in a SHTF or needing assistance for a family member >>> thought is that they will survive - probably won't be looted badly, if at all - won't be a refugee help center - eazy to locate without a map ....
I think that Rawles should add an alternative direct emailing option - even a phone number option for a faxing overnite blizzard (I''ve heard some groups are returning to it - ???) ....
