A nice compact way of stowing a backpack saw with teeth... https://youtube.com/shorts/N7aK_dW_tkU?si=Uke5Afb24uuHOCVV
@chelloveck ,I think the wire survival saws get a bad rap, people see the word saw and think it will buck all their winter wood. I have made lots of buck saws. And bow saws. And I make my own sleeves to take them with me in my pack, I can also use them for quick cuts with just the end hanging out. I'm never without a blade on me in the woods But the wire saw has a need that bow saws can't fill, I did a shootout for myself with three wire saws on wood, bone and soft metal. The Bestway Survival Saw kicked Hiney. Made into a quick bowsaw, Or bucksaw and they earn a spot in my loadout. Cutting into a can. Both sides, I stabbed the holes with my knife and it had no damage, but the reinforced lip would have beat it up. And we have a quick grill. Yes they are not the best on wood, but they have a place in my kit. They shine for the survivor that uses them for crafting tools from bone, plastic, soft metal ect. Just one mans opinion..
Nice post and nice constructive reply to my opening post. At the end of the day, one must do battle with what one has at hand. Both kinds of saw have advantages and disadvantages as you have pointed out. You must forgive my thread title, I sometimes use the outrageous to generate interest, and I appreciate your engagement with the topic instead of simply arguing that the message is dumb , and shooting the messenger instead. We all stand to learn something from your thoughtful reply,
