    Think they'll sprout?
Carrots, cucumber, peas, green beans, sunflowers, tomatoes, probably a few more. Found inside a house that was occupied continuously since then.

36 years approx, in less than ideal storage conditions??? The probability of viable germination is probably fairly low....do a germination test...but give it a try should be an interesting experiment. At the very least the seeds may make useful chicken feed.

You might try soaking the seed in hydrogen peroxide overnight. I read where this was supposed to revitalize old seed.

There is research to support the suggestion that hydrogen peroxide may aid the revitalisation of old seed.

Maybe the method of preparing the dosing solution was defective? There's not enough info in your post to indicate why the seed failed to germinate. Other than failure to germinate was attibuted to Hydrogen Peroxide.

Dilution with other ingredients is important.

When I read about it the hydrogen peroxide solution used to sprout seeds it was a very weak solution. I believe it was on the order of 0.3% for that one article I read.

That would seem to fit with what I have read also. Stronger, is not necessarily better.

Yeah, straight hydrogen peroxide will kill almost everything!

I'm guessing its killing the bacteria and fungi faster and more than it's killing the seed germ.

I like the suggestion of exhaling into the plastic zip lock bag.
