Why would we be surprised at these egos? These are all Type A personalities with a bend toward Narcissism.

Me, I don't care, as long as the result is positive.

I actually agree with the visa program. As it was intended. I think it has been severely misused and needs to be cleaned up and monitored. Trump always said that he was for immigration of the best and brightest. That's what the H1b is for. Talented assets that are lacking in the US workforce.
I don't agree with doing away with it. Like Musk said if it hadn't been for it he wouldn't be here. America first but talented legal immigration to supplement American industry.
Also I think a lot of this is being stoked by the left. Anything to drive a wedge in Trumps administration.

I think it’s ok for people to have differing views. There’s a lot of room for nuance, like Minuteman pointed out. I’d hope that the discussion will help to improve today’s system.

Steve Bannon is the KNIFE in the backs of everyone being discussed here, He needs to STFU and be quiet and let the big boys work, he had his day, and fucked it all up, so no excuses from him!
Where things have really blown out here, the lefties trying to hitch H1B to other immigration legal or other, and the path's to immigration! We need to have a long hard look at this system and how we use it and who we allow!

This is a VERY personal issue with me,, my Wife is a LEGAL immigrant, and we had to go through all the steps and jump through all the hoops, and we did it all with out any benefits such as H1B, we did it entirely on a Marriage Visa,, and then had to go through all the immigration proceedings which are VERY inconvenient. We had to make several trips to San Francisco to do the various process's, as the Dept. of Immigration and Naturalization had closed down many of the regional offices such as Huston or Seattle, forcing us to make the trip 5 times over the 5 years it took to do the whole process! Keep in mind, my Bride is a TOP level doctor/surgeon, highly educated and experienced, and yet, she was NOT qualified for H1B or any other advantaged option, NOPE, we did it 100% like everyone else does it! I get super pissed when folks get away with these cheats, or simply walk across the border and proclaim "Here I Am Muthertruckers" now where's my money and phone!!!

Trump is gonna be the Top Dog ,, bottom line. He's been the Top Dog the better part of his life . When you have his kind of money and influence,, you don't need anything else.
I don't know what Bannons beef is ,, don't really care ,,, he spent 4-6 months in prison for some political BS ,, and I respect him for that ,, he helped keep the Hildabeast out of office ,, which he said was his only reason for helping Trump win in '16. I respect him for that as well .
With Vivek , Musk ,, and others ,,, I just hope it doesn't turn into a bunch of schoolgirls fighting BS . If they keep their initial reason for being there in focus ,, which is cleaning up our overly corrupt and deceitful government,,, then we'll be fine ,, if they start focusing on '28 presidential runs , or their own political careers ,, then we're screwed .
Any inside fighting within the republican party is gonna tear up the whole whole damned reason we voted for Trump in the 1st place .

Trump will keep all the alphas in the team pulling in the right direction which is why we should all fear for his life. As far as Bannon, he is not providing anything positive to the movement. He had his day and his say now he needs to get out of the way or join the team for he is no longer running the show. Musk and Vivek have been given a mission/project, let them do it and if they said more H-1B's are need then so be it. How the hell does Bannon know? Besides, what is wrong with America recruiting talented individuals? Tesla was an immigrant, so was Einstein and the list is long... Perhaps if we had more engineers instead of lawyers, we wouldn't need the H-1Bs... Could the real problem be an education system where the governmental loan system got involved? Hint-hint! Look at the numbers, the ratio of engineers/scientists/doctor's hard sciences vs. other degrees Americans are obtaining.

I also have a long, confused and hateful history with immigration. My wife is a legal immigrate and like @Ura-Ki we were forced to run the entire gauntlet and a more stupid, senseless, abused, corrupt, convoluted, worthless system you have never seen. It's so crazy that to even TRY to get you to understand HOW crazy and screwed-up it is - well - that's Mission Impossible, until you try to do it then you are in for a big frigging shock. In truth, it cost me probably $5-$6000 to jump through all the hoops and, frankly, if I had not been overseas and used a loophole which has been created to allow the embassies to get their spouses processed a hell'va lot faster, it would have taken 2X-3X longer and cost me a lot more.

21st century and we're still giving ditch diggers, who cannot speak the English language, have no education (besides what is provided by their Mullah), and not a penny of their own so all resettlement finances come from the US government (meaning - US taxpayers), has the same priority as a world renown physician, scientist or engineer who is financially capable of providing for themselves and probably attended a US University for their post graduate work. Can't be possible? Wanna bet?

To my knowledge, we are the last Western nation that doesn't have a modernize system of immigration based on merit. This doesn't mean dig diggers don't get to immigrate. What this means is certain professions that the nation needs are given priority, a higher rating, and when those visas are filled then whatever is left over is given to the lower ratings. The point to be made here is we are no longer in the 19th century and the "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..." isn't realistic any longer and we sure as hell can't afford it since the government provides everything for those that can't. This is just common sense...something our Congress neither has nor wants.

When you remove all the emotion, a chance for a clearer picture can emerge. Look at population statistics for the last 25 years, and simply extrapolate. At this rate, the population for America is not only in decline, but in danger of collapsing. We can also easily surmise this is not accidental. This is not natural. The people are being purposefully culled. The argument among high circles of elites is that we require an influx of immigrants to breed. You see, it's not enough to just kill the traditional inhabitants (yes, I know the settlers murdered the indigenous natives once upon a time) but to make a case for importing massive numbers of foreigners to replace them because they will be easier to control.

This country is in its death-throes. The reason at this point in time is irrelevant. One way or another, they will have their global technocratic society.

Yeah, Bannon was good back in '16, but his time has come and gone. I have ZERO worries that Trump will take the back seat to anyone. Trump is the epoch of Type A personality, bordering on Narcissism and he is certainly accustomed to "managing" other Type A's.

I think what most of us have enjoyed the past month is the clear direction and decisions that the "old leadership" is soon to be done and gone forever in all of Govt Leadership, including the Alphabets. That was Trump's dismal mistake in his first term. "The Donald" has 48 months to make his mark and I firmly believe he intends to do his best to take "America Forward" to be the very best again. Four years seems like a long time, but it is actually very, very short and Trump has to move very aggressive and very fast and he needs to firmly solidify all he is doing through law, passed by the House and Senate. Executive Order is a band-aid and shouldn't be used in this instance.

I agree completely with every word. Well said! I truly believe Trump is going to give it his all to change this country and correct all the BS that has occurred by professional politician the past 50+ years. Obviously, he will not meet every objective, but he is swinging for the bleachers and damn the consequences.

The stage is set to make it all happen, all the pieces are in place, right people in the right places, control of both houses, and complete support by huge majority of the people so he is going to go for it. I feel a bit ridiculous saying this, but he truly might turn out to be consider our best, most loved and most famous President since Lincoln. There are only two variables that I can see that can stop him obtaining his goals: the Republican swamp failure to support him and assassination.

The Swamp is alive and well...and frightened, making them much more dangerous.
