I got over 24,000 steps today then took a 40 minute dance class. Getting ready to call it a night.

22,252 steps and I finally did a strength training workout! Here's the proof:

It may be after 10 pm, but I'm feeling good. I might even do the whole 12 week program! 1/3 strength workouts are done!
How are you moving this week?
I also did dance classes on both online platforms.
My legs are toast now and lunges felt foreign and unknown since I haven't done them in forever. Lol.

I’m still looking at April 3 for my next tournament. The boy might go in March if he gets back to practice after wrestling season, he’s the assistant at his old high school which is pretty cool. Stay tuned.

I bet you'll be more than ready by April! It's awesome that your boy is coaching. I was an assistant swim coach at my old high school and got to coach with my old coach. It was such a fun and cool way to give back. Also cool that my name was still on the record board.

Good job, records that still stand! I have no records, that’s probably why I’m still grappling as an old fart.

I made it back for Day #2: Upper Body! Super sore from yesterday's leg workout. I got my 22,000 steps in and some dance classes too!

23,149 steps today and I just finished Day #3 of this program so technically, I reached my goal of 3/3 strength training workouts!

Tomorrow is a scheduled rest day in the program and I think I'm going to keep going. I feel really strong and like I'm moving better than ever.
This year I set a goal to read 125 books and so far I've read 4/125.

    I'm currently reading:
    1. "Marie Kondo's Kurashi at Home: How to Organize Your Space and Achieve Your Ideal Life" I always enjoy reading books by Marie Kondo. She has a very soothing and peaceful tone.
    2. "Brass" by Xhenet Aliu
A waitress at the Betsy Ross Diner, Elsie hopes her nickel-and-dime tips will add up to a new life. Then she meets Bashkim, who is at once both worldly and naïve, a married man who left Albania to chase his dreams—and wound up working as a line cook in Waterbury, Connecticut. Back when the brass mills were still open, this bustling factory town drew one wave of immigrants after another. Now it’s the place they can’t seem to leave. Elsie, herself the granddaughter of Lithuanian immigrants, falls in love quickly, but when she learns that she’s pregnant, Elsie can’t help wondering where Bashkim’s heart really lies, and what he’ll do about the wife he left behind.

Seventeen years later, headstrong and independent Luljeta receives a rejection letter from NYU and her first-ever suspension from school on the same day. Instead of striking out on her own in Manhattan, she’s stuck in Connecticut with her mother, Elsie—a fate she refuses to accept. Wondering if the key to her future is unlocking the secrets of the past, Lulu decides to find out what exactly her mother has been hiding about the father she never knew. As she soon discovers, the truth is closer than she ever imagined.

Told in equally gripping parallel narratives with biting wit and grace, Brass announces a fearless new voice with a timely, tender, and quintessentially American story.

Marie Kondo! I love it! Mrs Crafty still folds socks so they don’t choke.

She does! It was helpful for us to get rid of things that clutter the house. It’s funny, I looked up the name of the book we read years ago, and Amazon suggested a bunch of books about “Swedish Death Cleaning”. I had to click on it to see what it is.

In Sweden there is a kind of decluttering called döstädning, dö meaning “death” and städning meaning “cleaning.” This surprising and invigorating process of clearing out unnecessary belongings can be undertaken at any age or life stage but should be done sooner than later, before others have to do it for you.

So, my intense cleansing the farm of several generations of junk and treasure (including mine) has a cultural, philosophical, and historical significance?

Yeah, all these books are working.

I'm reading through C.S. Lewis these days and currently in Mere Christianity. I used a couple of free Hillsdale College courses as a primer.

Health is still on track at 2 pounds a week loss, sauna 5 days a week to detoxing, 6500 steps a day, still Ketovore-ish diet, daily weighted stretching and some non-bouncy calisthenics.

My body has been beaten all to shit by both adventures and fighting evil, [wannamesswitme][YD]

I bet a deep cleansing like that has a lot of significance. How did you feel after doing it? I should do more deep cleaning and decluttering, myself.
I'm glad that you reminded me of C.S. Lewis. It's been awhile and I want to read "The Four Loves."
You're doing great with your health stuff! What an amazing way to kick off this new year!

I had a good rest day and walked 25,000 steps. I also did 2 shorter dance classes and finished the day with 30 minutes of yoga. I started adding in yoga again and I think it's a good thing. My evening routine is a bit arduous these days so I better get on that.
Hope you will all have a wonderful weekend!

A 20-something in class said, “No wonder about those grips, I saw you pulling up in that bucket truck!” Haha. A side-effect I’d never really thought about much. It makes up for my bench press, it’s never been impressive. Oops.

I feel so uplifted and inspired to clean and live well after reading her book. I've seen books about "Swedish Death Cleaning" pop up too and I think I'm going to read one of them next. This view really puts things into perspective. I think that it also inspires me to enjoy and use what I have... I noticed this year that I have a tendency to "save things for a special occasion."

I broke through the barrier and am getting closer to my goal! When I started this thread I was 175 lbs and this morning the scale said that I'm 129.6 lbs.
