I have a very special firearm that my grandfather brought back from WWII she is an old Italian! The metal is in great shape and the wood stock still looks great also.

As said this is special to me and would like to make sure she she's her 100th birthday in 2038. I have been using hoppes, frog lube whatever I have on hand to clean her and take care of her I have done nothing to the stock but place oil on the stock.

Any advice I would like to hear it. On July 4th 2020 was the first time she was fired since WWII it took me that long to find a magazine I been looking since they had this old magazine call Shotguns News I'm sure a lot of you remember.

Will not allow me to post a photo of her but she is a Beretta 30/42. Stock looks to be a light oak in color not sure what type of wood it is to me it looks like a light oak. She runs and works beautiful! I want her to be around for her 200th birthday in 2138.

I think Hoppe’s is fine for the metal. Hard to say on the stock without seeing it. I’ve used ‘gunny paste’ on Garand stocks with good luck. (BLO + beeswax + turpentine)

Photos would sure be nice, we like our gun porn here!

Post photos of the mags your having issues finding, I got some real odd ball mags I found in a "junk Box" I bought from a estate sale that was chock full of gun parts and accessories, nothing newer than about 1950 or thereabouts, some stuff I never seen before, and i'm a certified Gun Junkie 1st class with Diamonds and Oak Leaf Clusters!

Yeah, I really would like to see a photo as I'm a WW2 aficionado and a full-blown gun nut.
Damn, your grandfather was in the Italian campaign, that was a tough go and not enough emphasis is given to it.

Strangely, I couldn't find out anything about the 'Beretta 30/42' - nothing - so could you give us a few more details. Sure, you didn't mistype? You got me really interested now... LOL!

@Blackgrub0331 Yeah, I think that's the Beretta 38/42, Pretty interesting firearm. It has two triggers, one for semi-auto and one for auto. It's shoots 9mm if I remember what I read about it... It's a beauty! I can understand why you want to ensure you care for it properly.

I know a lot about her! Since I was 10 years old played war with her! Made me so happy the first time I got to shoot her!

I just want to keep her beautiful! She is very beautiful! Makes me smile ear to ear when I shot her!

I was a machine gunner in the Marines 2002-2006 and other then a 50 caliber by FN that reduced the weight so it could shoot 1,000 round a minute. Or the AA-12 but how could anyone not love a full auto 12 ga that can be shot with one hand with slugs?

This firearms makes me giggle when I shoot it! Like a school girl!

So please what type of wood and metal treatment do you all believe would be fitting for her?
As a dumb kid I always liked the wood in this weapon and used oil on it to make it shine and protect the wood. I used cooking oil. Yet oil is oil is it not when your 10?
