It is raining so hard and I think it is time for me to revise my plan. During the months of December and January (hopefully including today) I was able to get over 22,000 steps every day. I loved what it did for my body and my mind. I feel like everything is working better and my joints are in great working order. At the same time, this commitment has been very time consuming compared to other workout approaches. You can't just "hammer out" 22,000 steps in an hour... Sadly.
Now that it's windy and I'm seeing lots of downed trees, it isn't as easy to get these steps indoors and I don't have a treadmill.
Also, I noticed that I was starting to get an obsessive mindset where if I didn't get my steps in, I'd be grumpy and worried that I would start to gain weight. This is a red flag and a sign that it's time to shift. I've been wavering around 129-131 all month and I'd like to continue to make progress.
I'm going to start focusing on strength training and workouts that I can do indoors, but I'm also going to make sure that my nutrition is clean and on track. I'll log my food and be mindful.
On Monday I'm getting my routine bloodwork done and on the 12th I have my annual check up. I hope that I've made progress since last year.
Hope you are all doing well!

I just finished workout #4 / 90 and it was a total body workout. 2 minute work periods focused on muscle endurance.

This morning I did my dance drills followed by 1.5 hours of floor work. Shortly after, I did workout #5/90. It was an upper body workout. I'm currently at about 15,000 steps and this might be the first day since December that I don't get over 22,000 steps.
We have been getting nonstop rain all day and I have a feeling that flash flooding is going to be an issue. I'm so thankful that my houses are post and pier and raised high off the ground.
Look at this video of this 86 year old gymnast. She is such an inspiration!

Happy February! My theme for this month is "Focus & Floorwork February." I'm focusing on positive thoughts, practicing daily meditation, and practicing daily floorwork.

I also committed to no online ordering or spending. As a former minimalist who used to wear the same 5 outfits in different colors for like 5 years this shouldn't seem like a big deal, but over the summer I started mixing things up and wearing more stylish clothing. It's been fun, but my closet is full. Also, I'm losing so much weight that I may need to get new clothing in a smaller size.
I've noticed that it's really nice to not spend anytime online shopping. I'm one of those people who reads pages of reviews before ordering something and that's time consuming. LOL.

Last night I ended up getting my 22,000 steps, but I'm not sure if I'll do it today. I think I'm currently at 12,000 steps.
I did my dance drills, spent 60 minutes learning a few phrases of intermediate choreography, and I just finished 2 workouts from the Summertime Fine program and this got me caught up. I'm not sponsored or affiliated with this trainer, but I'm sharing these videos here to hold myself accountable, also, I like that her workouts are always free and she's an excellent trainer.

Workout #6/90 is a power pilates workout. You might think that pilates is fluffy and easy, but this one was so challenging and there were some moves that I haven't done before:

Day #7/90 was a nice standing stretch session.

Tomorrow I'm getting my bloodwork done. Wish me luck!

    Great work

Good luck on the blood work!

I also get mine done tomorrow, but it always sucks. It is a less-bad-news-is-a-win thing.

    You guys, I'm SO happy!!!
My a1C is 5.2% which is in the normal range. This is great news especially since I was in the pre-diabetic range for the last 2 years. I was in the prediabetic range since I was 6 years old so this new status of being in a normal range feels life changing for me.

Also, all of my bloodwork came out with good results except my Alkaline Phosphatase level is low. It was last year too.
This time, I'm actually looking forward to my annual next week to see what my doctor says.

I just wanted to share this update and exciting news. Thank you for being on this health journey with me! Hope you are all doing well. Also, there's snow on Mauna Kea this morning.

Just finished Workout #9/90! It is a 45 minute cardio abs workout. No equipment necessary.

After this, I plan on practicing my daily dance drills then going for a long walk.
What kind of workout are you doing today?

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

My blood work came back better than expected. I was told my sodium was low and I should add more protien and fats to my diet due to some alphabet named report or another.

Since I am already Ketovore-ish, I made my doctor agree out loud that I needed more sea salt crusted and butter braised porterhouse steaks in my diet. He laughed and said it was weird, but yes. He also said my liver numbers allowed a few bourbon with the meal.

Today was leg day (10/90)! This AMRAP (as many reps as possible) format is my favorite. We had 4 exercises that you do for 10 reps each and each round was 4 minutes. These longer rounds give me more time to work on the exercise.

After that, I did my dance drills. I'm trying to learn something called the "Flutter" which uses the diaphragm and it's challenging!
I have a little over 10,000 steps and I'm hoping to go for a long walk after lunch.
Hope you are all having a great day!

This is really great news! I had a feeling that your results might be better than you thought. You've made so much progress with your weightloss and overall health.
Seasalt crusted porterhouse steaks sound delicious! I love that you got the official permission. I don't think I'll ever be able to drink bourbon or any brown liquor ever again. Hope you'll enjoy it! Back when I turned 26 it's like a switch went off and if I tried I would get super sick. It never bothered me before that. It's weird how we can change.

I don’t go within 10 yards of alcohol anymore. I get stupid, really stupid.

Weed, here. Especially when mixed with large amounts of alcohol. I'm the "reefer madness caveman" type that is opposite to the chilled out hippie or lazy stoner kid. It's 100% lizard brain.

It's that time of the month and I feel exhausted so I'm taking it as a sign to rest because I've been fighting it all day...
I knew I was in a weird space when I woke up this morning so I tried meditating for 10 minutes. Still kind of anxious and on high alert.
I'm at over 17,000 steps today and sipping on cold brew so maybe after dinner I'll get a jolt of motivation to workout and get more steps. We shall see.

Dinner and coffee did the trick! I got over 23,000 steps and just did workout #11/90. It was a 50 minute total body sculpt workout. I felt really strong and thankful for my health today.

Next, I'm going to do my daily dance drills then shower and head to bed. Goodnight Everyone!

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I have the first 5k since the '90s in the morning.

Then I am going to lunch with my daughter and have a massive reward meal for losing 100 pounds.

I'm leaning towards a fantastic chicken fried steak covered in a layer of TexMex beef enchiladas. :D

I'll probably end up eating on the leftovers for a couple of days[ROFL]
