Well, I picked up my Ruger 10/22 yesterday. This is my first semi-auto .22lr rifle. My other one is a single shot, bolt action Mossberg 320TR.

I'm going to be customizing 10/22 by replacing the barrel with threaded one, possibly replacing the stock and some other small enhancements.

I'll try to get a picture of it tonight, but as it is, it's just a stock 10/22 with syn stock :)

Great minds think alike, I picked up two from Gander Mountain yesterday. They have the digital camo 10/22 for $199 until 04/30.

Well, if E.L. bought one then I just have to also. Actually I have been wanting another 10/22. They're a great rifle KC you'll love it. My favorite .22. I lost mine in my last divorce. My wife left and took my guns. I sure miss those guns.

I saw that one coming! lol

I love the 10/22 and hope to be getting one this spring/summer. Great rifles and easy to mod (if you wish).

10/22 was my first gun purchased. i was 18 and it was 99 in a pawnshop used.
Still have it. found out it was made in '83 , have refinished the stock, floaded the stock barrel, put a buffer in, a extended mag release , polished the crown and now have "tactical solutions" 25 rd composite mags. this is one gun that i will never part with.
    good luck on yours.

any plans for the barrel ya are replacing?

I just rebuilt an old 10-22 that I found in a sunken boat a few years ago. I looks like hell and still shoots great.

My son-in-law bought one yesterday also, at Bass Pro for $159. He's also ordering all kinds of replacement parts including barrel.

I've never had a 10/22, wish I could pick one up!

Yeah, been to that forum, lots of good info there. Yeah, I shot 20 rounds the night I picked it up (and a buddy of mine shot 20 rounds). Would have shot more but it was late as it was (after we closed the range down where we work).

I put a cheap scope I had laying around on it and took it out Friday afternoon. Put another 100 rounds through it. I had exactly 1 hiccup and that was on the 90th round, it failed to eject the spent casing completely. Figured it was just needing a good cleaning.

I cleaned it up real good and put it away. I may stop by the house and pick it up on the way to work (at the range) tonight and put some more rounds through it :)

I'll prolly keep the factory barrel around as well, use it as a back up replacement should something happen to the threaded one I'll get for it.

Nice little gun and sure is more fun to shoot than my Mossberg single shot .22lr rifle!

At least on my 10/22 it seems tolike the cheap bulk ammo better than some of the higher priced solids and such. When I feed it the solids it feeds at least 90% or better but with the cheap bulk hollow points from Walli world it runs beter than 99% at least. Its pretty tolerant of low maintenance/cleaning too though if you havent given it its first cleaning yet then it may help. Factory or good aftermarket mags and ammo it dont dislike and in my experience with the 10/22s 1 hiccouph in less than 150 rounds would be below average preformance for them. May just be break in though.

Nice looking 10/22! What did you all put into it? Or is it "stock" ;) internals?
