In the next few days I'm going to buy a 357 mag lever action threaded barrel and rails on it. This is going to be my wife rifle she likes lever action nice light weight.

I have noticed and she has told me how she enjoys shooting more with an optic on her weapon then the iron sights and if it gets her to shoot more what do I care she shooting more.

I'm looking for a nice light weight optic to place on this weapon. I feel a simple red dot will work best she does not need a 3 or 4x magnifier she has problems with the iron sights seeing them she has always had eye problems.

I have looked at a few optics I also have a few.
I feel the Vortex Strikefire II would look bulky and goofy on it? SIG Romeo would be closer to the size I'm looking for. I have also looked at the Olight halo sight and a few other pistol/ carbine optic.

I'm no way an expert with optics I don't feel the Halosun that I just spent $350+ was worth even half that amount. I'm not looking for top of the line optic but I'm not looking for a Walmart Red dot also.
Whatever it is I believe it's goong to need to be raised to clear the suppressor that I also want on the weapon.

Thanks I'm open to hear about optics that cost more if they are rugged and the battery lasts a long time!

    Thanks!

    Well, what's your budget.
I'll tell you now, do not repeat do not look at the trijicon compact 1.5x acog (with cash nor a credit card in your possession) when you handle the acog. Otherwise, you'll be walking out with that and the Mrs is getting the Holosun.

You might want to look at the Primary Arms Cyclops G2.

both are worth the price they are asking.
I'm in brush country so magnification in my AO isn't really a requirement. I can hit 200 with irons but both of these i can have both eyes open and I'm not dicking around looking for the 'red dot' it's just there.

I don't own either of them yet but the range I go to has them mounted on upper/range guns you can rent .. so i did. I predict my wallet is going to be lighter after annual bonus arrives next quarter.

I should mention that I do have the SIG Romeo 5 currently mounted on my 300BO. Good red dot, shake to wake, but the Trijicon or the Cyclops will replace it in the very near future.

I'd look into a Holosun HS510C in red or preferably green. It has shake awake and battery lifetime is literally years. My eyes are crap, but this is still crisp and sharp for me.

If she can't do the holographic type sight (this is by far the easiest on people with astigmatism) then consider one of the Primary Arms micro prismatics as suggested above. These also have shake awake and are stingy on power, but in the event that the battery fails you still have an etched reticle. I prefer the 3x, but for a pistol caliber 1x or 2x might be better. At 3x the entire ACSS reticle is easily readable and I can still shoot with both eyes open.

I would like to keep it under $500 since the rifle only going to cost me $600. I'm also open to spending more if it's that much more rugged.
