The Conservatives had a 20-point lead over Trudeau, but much of that evaporated when Trudeau resigned rather than lose. Also, the Liberal Government repealed some of Trudeau's unpopular actions, such as the carbon tax, etc.. The election was a toss-up and Trump might have swayed some voters, but I'm pretty sure that he didn't make liberals out of conservatives.

 

I fail to see how anyone, in this day and age, could take Trump's comments so totally out of perspective that it would change their vote; nevertheless, I am sure in some cases it probably did which I think is idiotic but there are idiots throughout the world, here and even in Canada. However, to think that it totally turned the election is truly a stretch, an impossible stretch. My guess is people hated Trudeau, wanted him out, but wanted a more moderate Liberal party. We'll see if they get what they voted for. I hope so but I truly doubt it. I think life in Canada is going to get much, much harder and the Canadian radical Left will blame everything on US.

The other possibility, which I don't like to mention but I'm convinced it happened in America so it could definitely happen in Canada, the election was rigged.

 

I had hoped Canadas people were smarter by now, but liberal influence will likely prevail seeing liberals tend to repeat the same mistakes hoping for a different outcome.

 

Gotta remember, Trump is the Master at Trolling the left, it's all part of his strategy, and it's working just as intended. Those that fall for Trumps Trolling become weaker then they might have been before, and that puts them on the back foot when negotiating with him, look as Mexico and just how fast Gloriya Shienbaum reversed course, this new Canadian leftist Cuck walked right into Trumps trap, just got royally played by Trump, and now, Canada is on it's back foot going into negotiations on everything Trump wants, and Canada is now in a lesser position to negotiate anything! If Canada had gone the other way, Trump would have backed down a little and left more meat on the bone for Canada in negotiations, but not now, it's gonna be just like Mexico and Europe, and Canada would do well to remember China is NOT it's friend and Ally, that the Crown only exists on paper, and not in actuality, Britain has it's own serious issues, as does France, so there will be NO help coming from them! No, Canada will be forced to the table by Trump on Trumps terms, and they will give Trump EVERYTHING he asks/demands, or Canada will fall flat on it's fat ass and wither away! This new Schite-Wheasel Prime minister will bend the knee within the week, and be forced to apologize and make nice talk with the White House, or his pride will be Canada's doom!

Losing much more than that... I think this totally depends on how committed the new Canadian administration is to the Leftist ideology. China will certainly see this as an opportunity (in ways too numerous count) and, if they are committed, I would expect Canada to play the China card soon, not sure how that will play with their citizens but this Party has shown they don't give a damn what their citizens want or think and if the Canadians did indeed sell the rest of their freedoms by voting in the same party that has shown they favor authoritarian style government - well - it will have to get worse before it gets better. I must admit I do find it hard to believe that the Canadian citizen is/was that short sighted and I lean toward a rigged election but...but that might be because that's what I want to believe because I like the Canucks just not their government.

So, I think we'll either see a Trade agreement soon with Canada, to put a feather in the new PM's hat, or it will turn into a diplomatic slugging match with China involved which won't be good for anyone (except the Chinese) with the Canadian citizens suffering the worse...but again, the Canadian Liberal Party, much like our own, has shown the don't care.

One last point... With these Trade wars, it forces manufacturing to rebuild in the USA which is a big win long-term in many ways. Should a trade agreement happen years down the road, the foreign country obviously loses money not only during those years prior to the agreement but also forces them to lose money for a time to gain market share back again. This can go on for years, even decades, and which is not always successful. China and other countries were able to do this in a much, much easier fashion years ago because the US government passed trade laws in favor of these foreign countries - not anymore. These countries will have to start from scratch again, finding the right politicians to court, finding the right time to bribe their Bills through Congress while all the time trying to rebuild their market share. They understand this...and the longer they leave it the harder it becomes and the more money they lose. Truly, it is a lose-lose for them while a win-win for the USA. Yeah, a bit rough in the beginning but it constantly improves while it gets worse and worse for trade countries like China.

I wish the best for Canada but sometimes, like in the USA, things have to get so bad, so insane, before the citizens finally say, "Enough!" Sad but true...
