mark this as a AN/MRC-45 radio van, part of the MSQ-1A, counter-battery RADAR, circa the Korean Conflict timeframe.

This was modified to appear as a Soviet SAM- 2 RADAR, both search and beam rider. The unit was the 57th TEWTS (Tactical EW Training Sqdn).

We provided training for the aircrews heading to SEA and flights over NVN.

The feedback we got from the Red River folks and B-52's hitting the range - it was like flying a mission over Hanoi, minus the jungle and flack.....

Later the Sqdn was folded into the 57th Range Group and whatever it is called today.
This was circa 1972. I left in 1976, and the TEWTS ceased to exist shortly thereafter. I can find no references in any USAF history publication.

This now makes a total of 2 photos on line of the MRC-45 van.
