Hardly worth the effort for 175. Ya gotta throw in the birch to get it to a more reasonable temperature.

All you have to do is make a small 12 by 10 room with 7 foot ceilings and put in a sauna stove that puts out enough BTUs to heat a 2500 square house. Wood fired sauna stoves are the best. Electric stoves are in my opinion weak.

190 tonight with oak and locust...I've gotten over 200 in the past, but man, that takes a lot of wood!

maple flooring pulled out of 4 story houses being torn down in cities/towns in the UP burns fricken great. Super duper hard and dry. put in 5 birch quarters and then stack the hard maple on top. After that burns down reload with maple again and shove 5 year old oak logs until you can't fit any more. Within 3 hours of starting/feeding it .. It'll be hotter than Hades in there.
We once got the sauna to 235, dude, I only made it 5 minutes on the top bench and that was getting used to the heat on the bottom bench a few cycles between the sauna and lake superior plunge. Slept like 10 hours after that session.

I definitely like it hotter, but my routine is to do it nightly. I try to minimize the start time, ideally under 30 minutes, to make the whole affair cost me 1 hour of time. I figure if I spend a couple hours, I’m not going to be able to maintain the routine to get the health benefits.

I’m still doing my normal routine. It’s not very exciting but…Next tournament is July 28th. Yay.

Oops, July 19th. I’m not sure why the 28th was in my head. One thing I’ll say about these events, I’ve never seen a fight, an argument or even a major issue. Every color, shape and size of human all battling for a .50 cent medal. Lol. Incredible!
