A friend of mine told me to join cause I will learn new things and be able to help others, which are both things I am really interested in. I have been living on my farm for a long time with my husband and we learned a lot as problems came and went away. I am in Texas but am not comfortable sharing more about that, for obvious reasons. Trust is always earned! I hope I can help and I already found some interesting things I had no idea about so am definitely not regretting joining. This forum is very good.
Welcome to the tree. I hope you'll pull up a branch and stick around. Our newest thing is trusting that you're not an Ai generated bot. (I felt sorry for guys named Al and have started using Ai to make finding my posts in searches easier in case Sarah Conner asks to see them.) As you've already noted, there are resources available here that will keep you busy reading for a very long time. Our real strength is in our people and lived experiences. If we haven't tried it, we probably wanted to and have some other obscure experience that will be necessary to bring a new adventure to a successful conclusion. Or we might just try it and break something so we can report on it and keep you from breaking the same thing. It gets really interesting around here sometimes. Moderators the best around. Just ask them, they'll tell you so.
Welcome. There is a lot of knowledge here from a variety of different perspectives. Glad to have you aboard!
Hi @oliviabrooks ! Big welcome from North Idaho! You are correct about trust and frankly none of us here need, or should want to know, more than your general location. In fact, I suggest that you remove/change your photo and change your 'name' if indeed that is your real name. I bet @sec_monkey (our super-duper Administration guy) could help you if needed, just direct mail him (under 'conversations'). Also, farmers here, are well respected, especially since most of us haven't a clue about real farming, so don't be surprised if you get asked some asinine questions...like from me! LOL! Especially since our go-to farmer and general pain in the backside has abandoned us (hint-hint! @Kamp Krap ) Yeah, there is a ton of experience here and plenty of wisdom too. All-in-all it's a nice place to chat and discuss whatever is on your mind and get different ideas, recommendations or just to have different people from different backgrounds to bounce your ideas off of... Welcome!
Welcome from the PNW up in Canada On the Big Island !! @oliviabrooks I ALSO suggest that you remove/change your photo and change your 'name' if indeed that is your real name. I bet @sec_monkey (our super-duper Administration guy) could help you if needed, just direct mail him (under 'conversations'). Just to be safe Ms . Sloth Edit Add Even that all members here are great & kewl . some lurkers (etc) we all want NO harm to any Monkeys . We just had an eye opener with one liked Silver Back HERE.. S
Welcome from ALABAMA! I grew up on a cotton farm. I come from a long long line of farmers, moonshiners and bootleggers.
the advice about using a nickname/alias and removing a photo of yourself is a MUST DO on all boards!!! best wish's
Thank you so much for your concern. No worries about my name. It is my name but you won't find me There are way too many with that name for someone to care about little old me. but still at least a minimum of safety is needed. Also, there are no asinine questions, only asses that want to seem smug when answering.
