BREAKING: US launches attack against Iranian nuclear sites | Fox News Video

US has struck 3 Iranian nuclear sites, Trump says, joining Israeli air campaign

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Saturday that the U.S. military struck three sites in Iran, directly joining Israel ’s effort to decapitate the country’s nuclear program in a risky gambit to weaken a longtime foe amid Tehran’s threat of reprisals that could spark a wider regional conflict.

There was no immediate acknowledgment from Iran of any strikes being carried out.

The decision to directly involve the U.S. comes after more than a week of strikes by Israel on Iran that have moved to systematically eradicate the country’s air defenses and offensive missile capabilities, while damaging its nuclear enrichment facilities. But U.S. and Israeli officials have said that American stealth bombers and a 30,000-pound (13,500-kilogram) bunker buster bomb they alone can carry offered the best chance of destroying heavily-fortified sites connected to the Iranian nuclear program buried deep underground.

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” Trump said in a post on social media. “All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home.”

This kind of stuff doesn't just "happen". I've got a thread going back to 2010 here...
IRAN/RUSSIA/CHINA and the Coming World War

And another from 2005 on a now defunct forum. This is the culmination of events long planned for, with only minor details here and there getting us to this exact moment in time. Israel was always going to be the prime suspect, but then again "Israel" has been directly involved in every conflict since the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution in the form of the Zionist Movement. Naturally, after the country officially came into being, Israel had to keep its presence by any means necessary, and that's where the U.S. Congress enters the picture, giving them everything they want. Of course, the lobby group for the Zionists now known as AIPAC is purely doing whatever it wants with full impunity, and the last time anybody tried to get them to register and show their books, a certain President was assassinated and LBJ took over. And all of this we see now comes as a result of BiBi trying to avoid being prosecuted in Israel -makes sense to start a war in the meantime.

But I digress. Big bunker busting bomb from stealth bombers take out Iran's nuclear program. Cool.

No surprise, really, especially after old Khamenei stated they would continue to move forward on their nuclear research. The thought of that madman getting a nuke is simply unthinkable...so, yeah, I knew it was coming since Israel would have already done it if they could. What else could he do? Once Iran gets the bomb they would either force their will on the world with the threat of the unthinkable (Probably nuked Israel ASAP) or we would have had to nuke them. The solution was the lesser of two evils...take away their nuclear research capability by bombing it to dust now or a nuclear conflict in the future. Hmmm...not that difficult of a decision.

Now, the big question is how many assets Iran has in the US that came across that open border... The enemy always gets a vote.

EDIT: Just to be 100% clear, I believe this was the correct decision. Israel couldn't do it, so we had to.

"Take the guns first, go through due process second". i heard trump say that.
how do we restore the rule of law,,, without law? massie is right. this is unconstitutional. how do we restore a constitutional representive republic with out serperation of powers? or the constitution.
is the gov of iran evil? no doubt.
do i want iran to have a nuke? nope.
why not have congress vote. do we have a king after all?
this is not the way to restore the republic.
i support 90% of what trump is doing,,, and i still belive he is our best hope.
letting isreal push us into ww3 is not who we are. they started this while trump was negotiating peace.
    this is not the way.

Russia has hundreds of highly trained nuclear experts in the region at some of the facilities.
Putin was very clear not to be too crazy with the bombing. Of course, he should evacuate his people.

Now, saying one thing and really meaning another is something else. Russia appears to be tied down with Ukraine. China is literally burning down from within. Israel took advantage of the situation, the very same (exact) situation they've tried to capitalize on for more than a decade. The whole nuke bomb scare in the hands of the radical Islamic Iranians is a classic. I mean, I don't want them getting a nuke, either...but this has been played now for quite some time. Israel took the initial hit with the strike, opened the door for the U.S. B2 bombers, now comes the threats and hopefully some talking and peace, but most likely more death and war.

The point is, we are so very close to the precipice, now. Let's hope Trump and the team can reel this back in.

Another great President did something that he himself considered unconstitutional. President Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Territory from France and admitted that he had stretched the constitution until it cracked. It cost $15,000,000 that the United States didn't have, but it added almost 900,000 square miles to the country! Sometimes a deal is just too good to pass up, so hang the legalities, and just do it!

I certainly could not debate whether Article II allows the President to use military force to defend the United States and U.S. persons against actual or anticipated attacks; however, I thought I would Google up a list of when it has happened in the past (below).

Now, you can say just because it happened in the past doesn't make it right. I agree but that takes us back to Article II which defines and establishes the Executive Branch. I would also point out the War Powers Act which requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of sending troops into action and limits deployments to 60 days (with a possible 30-day extension) unless Congress authorizes further action.

Sooooo...why would they have a War Powers Act if the President didn't have the authority to use military force without approval by Congress? Reading it (Article II) and understanding the circumstances - meaning - a nuclear Iran, I firmly believe he does. He absolutely does have the authority to act. A nuclear Iran was a clearly defined danger to the United States and could not be allowed and, in fact, the President is required to act to keep the country safe and secure.

Here's a few hits from the past... There are lots more and many that are questionable - I mean - we invaded Panama and overthrew their government in 1989 because of...drug trafficking? Hmm...and a few other things, of course...

    Strikes in Syria (2011, 2018):
The Obama administration authorized strikes against Syrian government targets in 2011 and 2018, arguing that the President's constitutional powers as Commander-in-Chief allowed for such actions, particularly in the national interest.

    Libya Campaign (2011):
The Obama administration engaged in a military campaign in Libya, including airstrikes, without seeking Congressional authorization, citing the President's power to act in national security interests.

    Killing of Qassem Soleimani (2020):
The Trump administration authorized a drone strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, a move that was criticized by some as an overreach of presidential power.

    Libya (1986):
President Reagan authorized airstrikes against Libya in response to terrorist attacks linked to the country

    Grenada (1983):
President Reagan ordered the invasion of Grenada to protect U.S. citizens and restore order after a coup d'état.

    Lebanon (1958):
President Eisenhower deployed U.S. Marines to Lebanon following a request from the Lebanese government to stabilize the country amidst political unrest.

    Context.

If Trump wants this to represent The People he should seek congress approval, even in arrears.
We are a republic. Congress is the Peoples representatives. We must maintain that balance. He must maintain that balance.

    Period.
